United States News Title: The HNIC Regime May Be the End of America In the malaise of the current depression, when jobless rates remain in the double digits; when the president declares that "there is nothing special about America," when the spokesmen of the left, Olbermann, et al. declare that "American Exceptionalism is a a myth," do you believe it? Is the grand experiment in liberty over? Are we now seeing the decline and fall of America? The idea of American decline is the fodder of wet dreams for the left. Keith Olberman, Ariana Huffington and Rachel Maddow get a twinkle in their eye at the idea of America falling and failing. But is this just wishful thinking on the part ofthe left, or is the nation really on the verge of collapse? There is no question that the nation is in the most dire situation since the 1970's. Job loss due to the Bush recession, which has progressed into the Obama depression remains extreme. Official rates of 10.3% belie a real jobless rate in the 20% range as those who lost jobs a year ago are dropped from accounting whilst still not working. Cash for Clunkers and a renewed stock market bubble offer the illusion of growth, with no actual growth. In legitimate terms, GDP continues to decline unabated, rendering the Obama "recovery" in fact a depression (6 consecutive quarters of GDP decline.) The American manufacturing sector has been savaged, from textiles to automotive, production jobs have left with no sign of return. The areas of dominance for American ingenuity continue to move to foreign shores, with government not just complicit, but in fact the motive force behind the decline. Barack Obama came into office on the slogan of "Hope & Change," but a year later he is clearly the the agent of "malaise & decline," as he tours the globe speaking of an America fading as a leader and looking to become a follower in a global cabal. The nation continues to become a house divided between "haves" and "have nots," though the "haves" are not the maligned "rich,' but instead the public employees who suck the productive sector dry with perks and pensions that private sector workers dare not even dream of. The tax paying public is nothing more than an anemic cow to be bled dry by the greed of the public unions who work 20 years and then retire at 45 to draw a 90% salary for the rest of their lives. So do we just "pack it up," and figure that we are destined to become like Guatemala with our host of corrupt public hacks who stifle any chance of a resurgence in the productive sector? Keith Olbermann says that he want the USA to return to the lifestyles of the 1950's, which I believe most ofthe left agrees with. in 1958, a man working at minimum wage ($0.40 per hour) had to work 42 minutes to buy a loaf of bread at $0.29 a loaf. Today, at the minimum wage of $7.25 an hour, the same loaf of bread at $1.99 takes 14 minutes of labor. A moderate car, Ford Comet which cost $1,600 in 1958 took 4000 hours of labor to buy. A Kia Spectra at $12,998 takes less than half of that at 1793 hours of labor. The Kia has air conditioning, an AM/FM/MP3 player, power everything - the Comet had nothing but a motor and tires. So yes, the idea of people working longer and harder to get less appeals to the Olbermann's of the world, but is it inevitable that we will slide into such a state? I say "no." When I look out at the mess we currently are in, I see a situation that is nearly identical to 1977 and leadership that follows the mold of Carter andthe left of that time. Carter presided over a nation in defeat, a nation battered by Vietnam and Watergate. Carter convinced America that the Soviet Union was preeminent and any resistance to the inevitable domination of America by the Soviets was futile and counter-productive. Now we have Obama, who also views the nation as defeated. Obama advises that we surrender to Islam and learn to appease, while withdrawing from the battle fields of Iraq and Afghanistan with our tail tucked between our legs. Obama, like Carter, is openly hostile to private sector business, unleashing David Michaels of OSHA to crush the life out of small business in order to stave off any sort of recovery. What we see is a repeat, albeit exaggerated, of the mismanagement and defeatism of Jimmy Carter. All it took to bring America back from the brink was a man of vision and good will, Ronald Reagan. Now I don't see another Reagan out there, even so, a return to hope and productivity can be had by simply turning Obama and his goons out of office. Why we will prevail: America has an educated populace. Despite the best efforts to import impoverished and ignorant peasants from the third world to dilute the pool of intellect, America continues to have a highly educated and highly skilled population. America is the top of technology. Despite semi-conductor manufacturing being done in Asia, America remains the home of design and development. Intel, AMD, Motorola, IBM, Texas Instruments and NVidia are responsible for virtually all innovations in semi-conductors. All of these are American companies who do R&D in America. While NVidia (the rising leader) prepares to leave Cupertino, California for Texas, it will remain an American company. The American people have expectations. The people of America expect to live a middle class or better lifestyle and are willing to work for it. Americans will not settle for lower standards as do the populations of Europe who have a caste system ingrained in the culture. I believe America can and will rebound. We will have to wait until Obama and the democrats are out of office, but once this is a reality in early 2013, then the resurgence can begin.
