Thats a de facto banning that Press Secretary Sarah Sanders says is because of the way the longtime Trump foil interacted with a White House intern during the post-midterm elections press conference
President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration, Sanders said in a statement this evening. We will, however, never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern. This conduct is absolutely unacceptable.
Acosta responded online quickly, calling Sanders assertion a lie. Even a brief glance at footage of the incident in question clearly shows Acosta this morning was rather gently trying to keep the microphone in his own hands at first to continue pursuing his query with Trump:
CNN backed its reporter tonight and said in a statement that Jim Acosta has our full support The Ted Turner founded outlet added that Acostas pass was pulled in retaliation for his challenging questions at todays press conference and not over a fraudulent incident that never happened.
This unprecedented decision is a threat to our democracy and the country deserves better, CNN asserted.
NBC News Josh Lederman called the White Houses actions a major escalation in Trumps campaign against the press. CNN producer Allie Malloy spoke up for her colleague as well:
Poster Comment:
He was asked numerous times that his time was up and to pass the mic. Instead, he tried to grandstand. There were a lot of other press people there. Trump should have just said this is over and walk away.
