His press pass was pulled because he's an asshole. It should have been done long ago. CNN has plenty of other reporters. Next on the list -- Yamiche Alcindor from federally-funded PBS for making a racist accusation by calling Trump a white nationalist.
That's what a loser would do. I'm no Trump fan but he's at least smart enough not to cede control of the press conference to the opposition.

Look at the video for crying out loud. Acosta's left arm pushed down on the intern's arm to keep her from the microphone. Figures. More fake news from CNN.

During the press conference Trump told the House Democrats in plain language that if nothing happens in the next two years he will blame them since they're in control. I predict that House Democrats will be responsible for reelecting Trump in 2020.
