The NFL is no longer entertaining and not worth the 20 hours a week I put into it.... funny, I have been doing other things all these weeks and realized there is a whole world out there to be doing things.

Yes indeed it's goodbye NFL. Pro football doesn't represent America, rather it's a sport where ghetto- types can make millions causing ticket prices to soar out of reach of most citizens who, unlike the central socialist government, balance their budgets. Many of these players resemble large kitchen appliances which surprises me that they can kneel at all. Then to fail to honor the flag their appearance in the sport is an insult to all Americans. I read this week where one school system is doing away with the pledge of allegiance and replacing it with lines of Maya Angeloo's (sp) nonsensical poetry.

I'll watch the occassional college football game -- those guys play with a passion. NFL players are out there for the money. Plus, every couple of years it's a new coach and new players. It's hard to maintain loyaly under those conditions. Kaepernick was the final straw, merely serving to highlight the way the NFL looks at me, the consumer.
I say screw the NFL and switch to Combat Football (based on the sci-fi short story “The National Pastime” by Norman Spinrad. Combat Football consistes of nationalized teams, none of which have a home city. They tour the country for the best venues, and are organized based on demographic identity. From the book: "This way, we got a team for the spades, a team for the frustrated Middle Americans, a team for the hippies and kids, a team for the spics, a team for the faggots, and a team for the motorcycle nuts and violence freaks.” They play without pads or helmets and punching and other forms of violence are allowed on the field (and in the stands).
