The way I will handle stuff like this for now is to change the title.
So why do you feel it's so imperative to impress Whitesands at the expense of Wood Chopper. Afraid he's going to turn you into the ADL or call you a Stormfronter?
Here is something to note for the future. I at least try to keep the title bar somewhat clean. Insults cursing and such in the thread are pretty much ok. I think that is reasonable.

OK, understood. I thought I put the original title in quote marks, showing it was a quote.
Maybe something like: Fred Mertz to Goldi: "Goldi, you're a ....." for the title.
Lets the reader know that the thread is about a post from Fred to Goldi, keeps bad language out of the title, and makes the reader want to read the thread to find out what Fred called Goldi.
Something like "Title edited by moderator" like you've done solves the other problem.
