Accuser Christine Blasey Ford is waging a war on Trump’s SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh with decades-old, unsubstantiated claims of sexual assault in an effort to derail his confirmation to the Supreme Court. Judge Kavanaugh has categorically denied the allegations and even told Senator Orin Hatch he wasn’t at the party in question. Ed Whelan, Justice Scalia’s former law clerk and president of conservative think tank the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC), came out in defense of Brett Kavanaugh and said compelling evidence will come out next week exonerating Kavanaugh. On Thursday afternoon, Ed Whelan started dropping pictures and evidence that may blow Christine Ford’s case wide open. The “Maryland suburban home”–the scene of the alleged sexual assault described by Christine Ford to WaPo as being ‘not too far from the Columbia Country Club’ may have belonged to Kavanaugh’s friend named Chris Garrett, says Ed Whelan. Follow this thread by Whelan… Dr. Ford may well have been the victim of a severe sexual assault by someone 36 years ago. Ed Whelan concluded his tweetstorm saying, “To be clear, I have no idea what, if anything, did or did not happen in that bedroom at the top of the stairs, and I therefore do not state, imply or insinuate that Garrett or anyone else committed the sexual assault that Ford alleges. I take full responsibility for that mistake, and I deeply apologize for it. I realize that does not undo the mistake. Ed Whelan apologized for "posting the tweet thread in a way that identified Kavanaugh's Georgetown Prep classmate," Chris Garrett. He did not apologize for the general content of the thread. It may well be that Whelan has more information than he posted to the thread. He identified a specific house and provided its floor plan that corresponded with Blasey Ford's recollection for the alleged incident house. It seems likely that somebody led him to look at that specific house. It seems unlikely that he just went to Zillow or Trulia or somesuch and happened upon a floorplan that matched, and a student friend of Kavanaugh just happened to have lived there back when. Whelan's thread included the disclaimer,

As it currently stands, I am not sure it can be proven that Blasey Ford has said a mumbling word. Other than the letter to Feinstein, all releases have been by an attorney. The only public copy of the Feinstein letter is redacted and indicates it was issued by "In confidence, REDACTED." Thus far, Feinstein has refused to release an unredacted copy of that letter to Grassley. It is generally assumed that Feinstein's office performed the redactions prior to release. It seems possible that the letter was redacted by attorney for Blasey Ford and forwarded to Feinstein in redacted form as an attachment to a letter from the attorney. This may explain why Feinstein refuses to release the original unredacted letter.
