Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford's team lays out terms it wants for potential Senate interview, sources say

Christine Blasey Ford's legal team has asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to agree to certain terms before she sits down for a potential interview over her accusation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her decades ago, two sources told Fox News on Thursday night.

Among the terms: Only members of the committee -- no lawyers -- can question her; Kavanaugh cannot be in the room at the time; and Kavanaugh should be questioned first.

LOL, you have to wonder how many currently on the committee have a law background.

Well, there was speculation that the Republicans would appoint a third-party to ask questions for all of them. This way they could ask the tough questions without being harmed politically.

Don't want to appear to be a heartless meanie.

"But the attorneys said it was "not possible" for Ford to testify at a hearing scheduled for Monday by Senate Republicans"

Really? Then Kavanaugh should tell the committee that if Monday is no good his next available date to testify is mid-November -- after the election.

She's had 36 years to prepare for this. No more delays.

That is my position as well. She wants an opportunity to be heard fine, Monday is the opportunity. She goes first.

Her request/demand for Kavanaugh to go first is a complete deal breaker. After Kavanaugh submits to cross-examination by the Dems, Ford's lawyer would emerge to say that the whole thing was too much for Dr. Ford and Dr. Ford is on her way to the shrink for emergency medical treatment. That would be like the Clarence Thomas hearing without the ability to hear Anita Hill try to explain why, if she were being harrassed as alleged, she followed Thomas from job to job every time he moved on.

Yes, but not for the reason you mentioned. You can't respond without being accused. What would he be responding to if he went first?

She needs to testify, under oath, what she believe happened. Then he can respond, under oath, to those specific accusations.

She wants to have the last word, letting all the accusations hang out there with no rebuttal.

Kavenough will most certainly have his chance to rebut, and he will do so provided he's still breathing after Ford would give testimony. I would expect a statement from him that while the Judiciary committee is free to accept or reject whatever terms Ford demands, he absolutely will offer a response to any and every accusation he's made aware of either privately or publicly as he sees fit to do, and if nothing else, he will visit every senator in the committee, one at a time, if need be and give his first hand defense.

He should also, as a highly experienced judge, publicly admonish Ford and her lawyers for suggesting that he give his defense first as it is contrary to how accusations are handled in every court in the country, and probably the world too.

Questions from Democrat senators on the Judiciary Committee. Do you entertain any doubt whatsoever how low they would go? Did you ever...?

Yes, but not for the reason you mentioned. You can't respond without being accused. What would he be responding to if he went first?

Absolutely not. She does not want to testify at all. She (her handlers) want Kavanaugh to take a pounding on tv for two hours and then her attorney can say just watching it was so traumatic that she broke down and is unable to testify. Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill without the Anita Hill testimony.

Was Kavanaugh Accusation An Orchestrated Hit Involving Fmr Anita Hill Adviser?

An audio recording purportedly from a July conference call suggests that Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault accusation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh wasn't simply a reluctant claim that Diane Feinstein sat on until the 11th hour.

The recording features Ricki Seidman - a former Clinton and Obama White House official and Democratic operative who advised Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas hearings, and who was revealed on Thursday as an adviser to Ford by Politico.

Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were both teenagers, is being advised by Democratic operative Ricki Seidman.

Seidman, a senior principal at TSD Communications, in the past worked as an investigator for Sen. Ted Kennedy, and was involved with Anita Hill’s decision to testify against Supreme Court Nominee Clarence Thomas. -Politico

"While I think at the outset, looking at the numbers in the Senate, it’s not extremely likely that the nominee can be defeated," says Seidman. "I would absolutely withhold judgement as the process goes on. I think that I would not reach any conclusion about the outcome in advance."

What's more, the recording makes clear that even if Kavanaugh is confirmed, Democrats can use the doubt cast over him during midterms.

"Over the coming days and weeks, there will be a strategy that will emerge, and I think it’s possible that that strategy might ultimately defeat the nominee... whether or not it ultimately defeats the nominee, it will help people understand why it's so important that they vote and the deeper principles that are involved in it."

When did this interview take place?

Update: I found Wash Post article she referenced was dated July 9th which is the same day Trump announced Kavanaugh. And probably the same day Ford sent Feinstein the letter and scrubbed her social media. In 2012 CNN's Jeffrey Toobin said if Romney wins he will appoint Kavanaugh to the SCOTUS. 2012 is when Ford ran to the therapist to legally document a sexual assault in high school. Obama won.

Then Trump wins in 2016, as fate would have it Gorsuch went to the same school (2 yrs behind) same grade as Ford. Rumor is that Feinstein got the same letter from her on Gorsuch.

In the summer Ford called her best friend from that school and said "Oh did I ever tell you that I was sexually assaulted during high school" the friend said no and was puzzled as to why she said this.

Then why not use it on Gorsuch? They hated him, too.

Yep.

BTW, didn't she say she was wearing a bathing suit under her clothes? Why? Did the house have a pool? Was this a pool party? That might narrow down the search.

I have had the same thought, considering such questions as what was the location, size and shape of the pool.

Today's edition of nonsense is the following.

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-09-22/kavanaugh-accuser-agrees-testify-next-week

Dear Ms. Willey:

Dr. Ford accepts the Committee's request to
provide her first-hand knowledge of Brett
Kavanaugh's sexual misconduct next week.
Although many aspects of the proposal you
provided via email, on September 21,2018,
at 2:33 pm, are fundamentally inconsistent
with the Committee's promise of a fair,
impartial investigation into her allegations,
and we are disappointed with the leaks and
the bullying that have tainted the process, we
are hopeful that we can reach agreement on
details. Can we set up a time for later this
afternoon to continue our negotiations?

Sincerely,

Debra S. Katz

"... her first-hand knowledge of Brett Kavanaugh's sexual misconduct next week."

Now it's "sexual misconduct"??

What happened to sexual assault? That it could have led to rape? That he might "inadvertently" kill her?
