Michael Avenatti, the attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels, announced Sunday that he is planning to hold a rally in Texas the same day that President Donald Trump will be in the state rallying for Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. “I am excited to announce that I will be leading a large resistance rally in Texas at the exact same time of Trump’s (details tba),” Avenatti tweeted. “All groups are welcome to join.”

Trump announced two days prior that he will be traveling to Texas in October to rally up the base for Cruz’s reelection campaign.
“Terrific!” Cruz replied to the president in a tweet. “Texas will be glad to see you.”
Avenatti launched his own political action committee (PAC) in August in preparation for a potential presidential run. He has been a frequent critic of Trump and the Republican Party.
