What if I told you I am running for President?

Now let me say this first. If God decides I should be president of these United States, there is nothing anyone can do to prevent it. If He decides I am not to be president of these United States there is nothing I can do to even get my wife to vote for me. All of that said, and giving God all of the credit, win or lose, I am now a candidate for President of these United States.

And here is my campaign. I know that the most important job the President has is that of Commander in Chief of the US military. I know that the oath he takes states that he will defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. And I know this, as president, if the news media can film a terrorist organization, I can carpet bomb them out of existence. I know that I do not consider water boarding torture and that I will not hesitate to do whatever needs to be done to eliminate those who attack the USA and to get information. I know our borders need to be protected and that no one can do that better than the US Military with the simple order of “Close the borders to any and all who have no right to be here!”

How am I going to pay for all that? Easy. I also know that Congress has funded the Department of Education and the EPA for a number of years into the future. Both agencies are unconstitutional. I will put Sheriff Joe of Phoenix in charge of the internment of illegal aliens and charge it off to the Department of Education as reeducation of illegals waiting to go to prison or home. Since schools will be local and the fed will have nothing to do with the money since there will be no employees of buildings to spend it on, I’ll use it to fight and deport terrorists.

Now how, you ask, can a fundamental Christian preacher say that as President he will end the EPA, end the Department of Education and bomb our enemies into extinction? What Biblical principals would I possible have, or have I gone insane?

Well, I have not gone insane, I have simply read Romans chapter 13. You see four of the biggest problems we as a nation have, is crime, illegal aliens, abortion, and homosexuality.

As the US Military became less and less of a fighting force, those four have grown. As the fed has taken more and more control of the schools, those four have grown and grown and grown. As the fed has limited more and more work opportunities and choices by regulating thru the EPA, those four have grown and grown and grown. The Bible tells us that the job of the President is: “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.

For too many years the President and the Congress and the courts have used the power of government not to help but to hinder freedom. And those four, homosexuality, illegal aliens, abortion and crime have grown and grown and grown. The Government has usurped power and freedom by allowing and even encouraging terrorism. They encourage by not punishing it. As president I will punish it. I will punish it because God has told us that the President is to use his sword to reward and protect good while punishing evil.

Think of Romans 13 in that light and not in the light of having to pay taxes and stand by while millions upon millions of US Citizens are slaughtered while they sleep in the supposed safety of their mothers’ wombs each year. Read Romans 13 thinking not about how we must obey the President because he and Congress, the courts and the police say that we are to respect the abomination of homosexuality, how we are racist if we think it is wrong for people to ignore our borders and just enter and steal at will. Read Romans 13 thinking that God has given government the sword not to threaten us if we so much as point a finger at a criminal, but instead government is to use that sword to punish evil and evil doers while protecting and ensuring the freedoms of those who do good.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resist the power, resist the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.

Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil.

Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For, for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of Light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Romans 13:1-14

You see, Romans 13 teaches us that the President is to use the powers vested in him not to reward the abortionist, the homosexual, the terrorist and the illegal alien, but to punish them with the sword and to reward and protect us who love life, love God’s rules, love God and walk in His ways.

The EPA prevents people from working, the Education department prevents local schools from teaching what they know children must learn. And our military is not allowed to protect our nation. They are hampered with rules of engagement that will not let them fight to win. That is not what a president is supposed to do, and it is not what the Congress or the Courts are supposed to do. Romans 13 is not about paying your taxes and standing by while the federal government bankrupts the nation of treasure and morals. Romans 13 tells us what kind of candidates we should be voting for, for it tells us what those in office are to do with the power they have been entrusted with.

Am I really running for President? No, for if God wanted me to be President I would simply wake up President. So, no I’m not running but I do hope you will look at your Bible as you should and not how some one in the Government would have you look at it.

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God, the powers that be are ordained of God. ... For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. ... Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil.

Does that sound like anyone you have voted for in the last 50 years? Me either. Let us look to support and work for those who will be men who will fill the shoes of leadership that God tells us they are to fill in Romans chapter thirteen.

How do you reconcile that with Gods word. Jesus said to love your enemies.

Waterboarding is torture. Why do you think it is not torture?

Waterboarding is torture. Why do you think it is not torture?

Was part of USMC sniper training back in the 60's had it done to me, I'm still alive and walked away from it. Snipers are two man teams out in hostile country, the chances of getting caught and tortured is not small.

Have you ever got water up your nose when swimming? Now just imagine it going on for a minute or less. Uncomfortable? Yes. Deadly? Nope.

Read Admiral Denton's book about his time in a NVN POW camp and you will learn the meaning of torture.

Torture can, and at times does, cause death or permanent disfigurement. Water boarding does neither.

I thought then and still do that the gas chamber was worse. Neither were things that one looked forward to, but water up the nose wasn’t even in the same league as that gas. In boot camp you had about three times a long to get the gas mask on as in sniper school. As a result many of us got a full lung of gas, then it was nearly impossible to get the mask on due to the choking, coughing and vomit reflex.

What verses is that found in Bob?

Stoner, it is a paraphrase taken from verses of Romans 13

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God, the powers that be are ordained of God. ... For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. ... Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil.

Romans 13, verse by verse with numbers:

1 ¶ Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
7 ¶ Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
11 ¶ And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. (KJV)

Notice in verse 8a, have no debt. We as a nation produce to little and borrow to much, we need to reverse that if we are ever to get out of debt, and no one can exist long in the red, eventually our credit line comes to an end.

The EPA and the Department of Education are two that continue to hold us back, one by over regulation the other by dumbing down and making lazy our youth

Romans to me seems to have a narrow focus. It seems to give rulers certain authority on certain things. Kind of like our constitutions enumerated powers. If it aint mentioned then they don't have the legitimate need to exercise that power in the eyes of God. For example social security. Or millions of other things.

If you were really running, Bob C., I might have voted for you!

Hey, my wife said the same thing.

Help me decide, can a President be thrown in jail for punching out or shooting members of Congress? I would not like to have to give up the perk of flying south in the winter in my very own personal 747, because I was locked up just for slamming reid in the nose or shooting a Republic hater or two. Hard to be the first President serving from a jail cell for doing what is right.

But seriously, the whole thing is not about my running it iw about Romans 13 and how we, who are Christians, should be using it as a guide to decide what candidate(s) we should be supporting.

Obama is using that sword, in the form of US Marshals, to protect abortionist that do late term abortions and to threaten and jail those who love life and the baby in the womb.

George Bush used that sword to rip every shred of decency out of getting aboard a plane, instead of destroying the enemy within and without.

Clinton used the sword to inflict unbearable pain on suffering families by use of the IRS.

God tells us thru the pen of Paul what a President should be doing with the sword and thanks to Joe Snuffy, I came to understand that more fully after restudying Romans 13.

But thanks for the vote anyhow.

Romans to me seems to have a narrow focus.

Romans 13 seemed much the same to me, as a matter of fact, 99.9% of all commentary would agree with that. But, after reading what Joe Snuffy said, I rethought, re read and pondered Romans 13 and found it is not limiting, it is not narrow, it instead instructs as to what the office of President is suppose to do with the sword.

Oft times, the word of God says more than a first glance might indicate. Let me give you and example.

Most often you will hear Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. and Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Only as prohibitions against homosexuality. Yet, read it carefully and you will find that it is also telling us that sex with your wife is not simply for procreation, it includes more than vaginal sex. For it is implying that a man and a man can do together is only suppose to happen only between a man and his wife.

Now, thinking like that, more out of the box, re read Romans 13 and see what you come to.

Well, there are times when I feel like I wouldn't mind punching out some of them myself. Basically, I'm a gentle natured person, but sometimes enough is enough and mere words and peaceful protests don't get the job done.

The Tea Party protests come to mind. Look how the media downplayed that. Then it really didn't change anything. It was back to business as usual.

It is my friend, it is. Every time I look at my grandchildren, I am hard pressed not to invoke Psalm 109 on every politician since Washington.

I have often be quoted as saying that noone actually earns a spot in lake of fire they simply end up there because they have ignored the open arms and call of the Christ.

But then I think about what the last 12 Presidents have done to this country and I am hard pressed not to change my mind, for what they have done to my grandchildren’s future is impossible for me to forgive.

Lee Iacocca said that a country that exports raw materials and imports finished goods is a colony. Those 12 have made us colonies of China, Japan, German, and even South Korea.

"It was back to business as usual." That my freind, says it all. With Washington and I dare say most state and local govt it is all about them lining their pockets in one way or another, "business as usual."

How I do wish God would make me President, for with the US Military and the power of the oval office, this cuntry would start looking much differant in 24 hours. Yeah, it is the money thing. It seems many in the government have sold out. IMO our Congress should not be able to accept anything from lobbyists. If they were in another position, the payoffs would be considered "bribes" and they would be fired. There's a double standard there.

In the music industry, they had payola and DJ's got into big trouble for that. The Congress receives "payola" and it's okay.

What do you think of Pastor Butch?

Pastor Butch and I have many mutual friends, Mark C down in Kentucky being one. But, judging from conversations on the Bible and Christ that I have had with some of his followers, we have some difference, serous ones I fear, too.

But bear in mind, I do not read or listen to commentary or exhortations, I do commentary and exhortation. The reason I don’t read what others have to say or listen to many doing commentary is because it clouds my thinking, I need to study without preconceived conceptions. I will follow up on something I read that interest me such as Joe Snuffy’s reply to a request I made on Liberty Post that lead me to rethink and restudy Romans 13.

But, back to your question "What do you think of Pastor Butch?" I have never heard him so I really don't know what I think of him. If he preaches salvation only thru what Christ did on the cross and His blood, and the Trinity as one God, then I guess our difference are minor. But if He regards Jesus as anything other than fully GOD, then our differences are insurmountable.

Agreed. Somehow, it's just not working that way and a number of them are abusing their positions. Too many people are just voting for the same person time after time 'cuz they recognize the name. They are not informed on their congress critter's voting record. I know someone who was going to vote for the same candidate-when I told them their candidate's voting record on a number of issues-that changed their mind and their vote as well.

Some of those in power should be removed, but I haven't heard of any constituents getting together to remove anyone from office. Not sure of the actual procedure to do that. Probably others aren't either.

"Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen." Ezekiel 16:49-50
