Is President Donald Trump over Jared Kushner? According to a report from The New York Times, there are certainly signs that may be the case. But then, there are other indications that Kushner may still be part of the presidents inner circle.
On the one hand, there is an anecdote from the report authored by Maggie Haberman and Katie Rogers in which Trump reportedly told people he could have had Tom Brady as a son-in-law.
Instead, I got Jared Kushner, he reportedly said.
Trump has also reportedly told aides, Jared hasnt been so good for me.
On the other hand, there is this passage from the Times piece:
And yet, after 18 months of bruising internal White House conflicts and bitter criticism that they have failed to be a moderating influence on the president, both Mr. Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, the presidents elder daughter, are still in Washington and still working as aides to Mr. Trump. They are as comfortable and as close to the center of his orbit as they have ever been.
The Times also reports that Kushners recommendation helped get new White House Communications Director Bill Shine his job as well as Trump 2020 campaign director Brad Parscale.
Still, it seems like the president might be on the lookout for a new quarterback.
