To name a few that come to mind, Tom Jackson, Fred Mertz, Mudboy Slim, palo verde. Posters who were (and still are) civil in trying to discuss an issue but constantly under attack by other posters which Goldi supported in the attack just simply because their viewpoints were their own and not Goldi's. And that's just to name a few. And that's fine that Goldi has chosen to be that way. It's her site. But for better clarity and consistency to new posters over there, she needs to change her forum rules because many posters over there are not civil and continue to demean and trash good posters. It's become a site of civil intolerance! It used to be a site where people could share their viewpoints without all the civil unrest on the forum. Now she's allowed that site to be taken over by those very same posters doing the attacking where they spew their vile, evil and uncivil posts at some posters all of which goes unchecked. You know exactly who those posters are! I'm not going to name them on this forum. Everybody here pretty much knows who they are. That's why the civil good posters are coming over here.

I'm here for the same reason. I've been watching what's been going down over on LP. Definitely not pretty at all. Nasty and vile posters, which will remain unnamed, but everybody HERE knows who those posters are, get the full permission by Goldi-lox herself, telling certain posters to do actual physical harm to themselves is absolutely disgusting to read. I thought Goldi-lox had some class. I was wrong.
It didn't used to be that way but Goldi, in her great wisdom, banned most of the rational posters with the excuse that they were interfering with "free speech", i.e. they argued their points too well.

The reason why I'm not naming names is because those posters would then come over here and start harassing good posters here. You assert that Fred Mertz never added anything over there of value. But from what I've observed, Fred Mertz has been one of those posters that's civil and makes effort to avoid confrontation with troublemakers.
I had hoped after she posted her new site rules in her now infamous town hall post, that things would get better. She claimed she would no longer allow personal attacks and such vehement rederick. Then the tattling started, Goldi he said this, goldi he said that. Then they realized she had already moved on and anything was ok again. You know, free speech is great. Some colorful language can be fun when it is on topic or adds flavor, but to just spew crap when one has no voiceable opinion, to deflect by belittling, to quash by intimidation, to leg hump in packs of farrow dogs.I still gaze down into that pit while purusing the headlines and there are still a few good words to be found. But the anti-civility in there has mostly sucked out all the air from the soapbox.

If Goldi was consistent with laying down the forum rules, it would be different. But what has happened is that when she takes money donations from those posters, she gives them carte blanche to verbally attack other posters with the purpose of getting them banned. Money changes everything and what it does to forums like hers, when uncivilness continues, is that it brings down the forum. As a result, good posters start to look elsewhere to post so as to avoid be associated with the embarassment of what LP has now become.

I don't think that's completely true. Mad Dog is one of the biggest assholes on the internet, doesn't give her a dime, but is welcome there because she agrees with him. I don't think she's ever banned anyone that she agrees with politically, no matter how out of control they are.
