My personal opinion is that Putin is a reasonably decent guy and the last time he and Trump got together, Trump asked him if Russia was involved in any meddling and Putin denied it so sufficiently that Trump basically couldn't get to second base on the topic. Trump seemed at least somewhat convinced that Putin was being truthful, or at minimum, doing a damn fine job of appearing to be truthful. Both these two are smart guys, and I predict they'll hit it off personally. When Trump gets back, he's going to wonder how smart it was to expel all those Russia diplomats over the Skripal poisoning, and he may also wonder more about the alleged gas attack in Douma a few months back, for which the recent preliminary report from the UN investigating body says no traces of the alleged chem attack occurred. Trump may start to realize Putin is a better friend than the many swamp creatures in his administration.
