Opinions/Editorials Title: If Trump were Hitler, this is what would happen Liberals, progressives, Democrats, and those who follow and support them are fond of calling President Donald Trump a fascist. Most have no idea what this means. They have a vague grasp on history and politics. According to the official version of world history, no villain was worse than Adolf Hitler. Not even Stalin and Mao, who killed far more than the Nazis. Trump is not a Nazi. He’s not even a fascist. If anything, he’s a crony capitalist. His business deals demonstrate this. He received tax breaks, grants and incentives to expand his real estate empire. Trump went so far as to sue New York Mayors Edward I. Koch, Rudy Giuliani, and Michael R. Bloomberg after they denied him tax breaks for Trump Tower. “Donald Trump is probably worse than any other developer in his relentless pursuit of every single dime of taxpayer subsidies he can get his paws on,” Alicia Glen, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s deputy mayor for housing and economic development, told The New York Times. Trump even took advantage of a government program for small business following the attacks on the World Trade Center. He swung a $150,000 grant for one of his buildings near ground zero. If Trump were a Nazi, he would embrace national socialism, from which the German acronym Nazi is taken. He has yet to support and enforce antisemitism, scientific racism, and eugenics—although his detractors insist he is a racist. Trump has yet to issue irredentist claims against Canada or Mexico. He has yet to advocate “Kinder, Küche, Kirche”—Children, Kitchen, Church—for women. If he fails on these key points, it’s obvious he’s not a Nazi. He’s not a fascist, either. Trump has not denounced democracy as obsolete. He has not called for the mobilization of society under a totalitarian one-party state. There isn’t a governing body of ideological Trump party members managing all aspects of the economy and society. The ruling elite wouldn’t stand for it. Trump plays to Christians while Mussolini declared God dead. Trump’s pandering to nationalism doesn’t make him a fascist. The founder of modern fascism, Benito Mussolini, began his political career as a socialist. He considered himself a Marxist and described Marx as “the greatest of all theorists of socialism.” Its said no prominent European socialist before World War I resembled Lenin more precisely than Benito Mussolini. Hitler said socialism is the core concept behind fascism and the foundation of Nazi Weltanschauung (way of life). Hitler denounced capitalism—in particular finance capitalism—and blamed its woes on the Jews. Meanwhile, Trump’s cabinet is stocked with CFR and Goldman Sachs operatives. Donald Trump’s son-in-law is a Jew. How can he be a Nazi? Here’s what would happen if Trump adopted nazism and fascism. First and foremost, the screaming, foul-mouthed, and violent leftists—most of them seriously brainwashed—are rounded up and slammed into political concentration camps. Leaders and their followers are assassinated or tortured to death. Trump takes over all mass communications—television, the internet, print, and radio—and his message is the only message the people hear. The non-stop dissing of Trump by MSNBC, CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, etc., will come to a screeching halt overnight. Editors and journalists are thrown in prison or concentration camps. Resistance is dealt with severely. It will be the real zero tolerance. Does that sound like Trump and America? The United States government under the control of the national security state certainly has fascistic characteristics, but this does not make it fascist. More accurately, it is a form of oligarchic corporate authoritarianism. Hitler dispensed with democracy. Our rulers are more sophisticated than that. The democracy facade is very useful. It is used to hide the inner workings of a central command corporate-banker state. But that doesn’t work anymore, as the election of Donald Trump demonstrated. Americans are sorely pissed at the government. This anger was manipulated by Trump and his handlers. It’s beginning to build again and there is no telling where it will lead. It is entirely possible the left will drive Trump from office, but only if the Democrats take back Congress. If this happens Trump will be a lame duck come November, 2020. That’s when he will be dangerous.
