I haven't been there for a while. I was curious to check it out today, and only a blank screen comes up.

Must be a fundraiser going on. It's part of the shtick: freeptard addicts go into withdrawal when the site is down, then they reach deeper into their wallets and purses to donate more money to the owner. I'm not sure where the money goes.
It's the usual scam to extract cash from the rubes. The current Griftathon began April 1 and is still continuing. The next one starts on Sunday, so they're trying to extort enough to avoid the embarrassment of non-stop begging for a site that hasn't improved in a decade, after millions of dollars raised. See my earlier thread. And Fred, the money probably eventually goes to Olive Garden and beer.
So Jim Robinson likes Olive Garden? Well, they do make good salad. Not much to compliment them on after that.

You do sometimes wonder if they report actual numbers raised, whether they are under or over their target sum. I never thought there was any real accountability for how much they raised or spent.
Yes, the salad is simple, cheap and good - it's all in the dressing. The rest as I recall is chopped iceberg, julienned carrots, red onions, black olives, pepperoncini, croutons and a sprinkling of coarse-grated cheap "parmesan" cheese. Nothing exotic or special, but I admit it's pretty addictive and their long-ago menu designer did a good job with it. The nearest is about 40 miles from me and I haven't been in years, but as I recall their basic stuff is edible and was fairly priced - when they try to go "fancy Italian" is when they run off the rails into sludgy muck.
