It’s an America Tradition It’s amusing in a cynical sort of way that everybody—well, at least Trump supporters and his loyal MAGA crowd—are outraged by Obama’s spies in the Trump campaign and revelations of the administration’s dirty tricks, including a sting of Trump aides by the Department of Justice and the FBI. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said “new information begs the questions: Who were the informants working for, who were they reporting to and why has the [Department of Justice] and FBI gone to such great lengths to hide these contacts?” Imagine, a foreign government—the United Kingdom—colluding with the Obama administration and the Clinton campaign to defeat Donald Trump. It shouldn’t come as a shock. This is how they run the game—and have for quite some time. If you’re old enough you may remember Watergate, Nixon’s enemy list, his re-election campaign’s dirty tricks against Democrats. You may recall the FBI’s COINTELPRO, a covert operation to kill off any meaningful political competition or perceived threat. Abraham Lincoln had antiwar newspaper editors imprisoned. Woodrow Wilson had his Justice Department hunt down and deport leftists and anarchists. FDR harassed the antiwar noninterventionist movement in the 1930s. Johnson and Nixon used the FBI against their enemies, including journalists and civil rights and antiwar activists. Obama used the IRS against conservatives. Meanwhile, the rest of us are surveilled in an endless search for terrorists—not al-Qaeda or ISIS, but those who want to change the political system and depose and prosecute the pathocratic plutocrats. If the carefully manipulated system to elect only vetted political candidates fails, as it did with Trump, criminal operations are then used. At times like this, you can almost taste the viciousness of the state and its institutions. This is how it works—deception, character assassination, blackmail, and as a final measure if all else fails, fatal accidents and murder. Both sides of the double-sided corporate political party play this game. It’s the sort of game only a psychopath could love. Operation Crossfire Hurricane is nothing new. It’s business as usual. It’s a distraction. Regardless of what the dueling factions within the political establishment do to each other, the agenda—dollar hegemony, end-to-end and endless wars, wholesale theft by the financial class—remains the same. In other words, this whole thing is a circus roadshow. Next year a new cast of characters—duly vetted and sworn in service of the oligarchic elite—will become obsessive-compulsive over a new manufactured scandal, the former one relegated to the dustbin of history. If Trump is impeached, the next guy will pick up the script and move the agenda forward. Nothing short of a wholesale dismantlement of the current political system and the removal and criminal prosecution of its owners—the banksters, the corporate elite, the dynastic families—will work to make significant change, not only in America, but around the world.
