On Sunday, in an extraordinary message to the people of Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the severe water shortages in Iran and not only offered to help the Iranian people with words, but actions. He announced the creation of a Farsi webite that will show how Iranians can recycle their wastewater and Iranian farmers can save their crops and feed their families.
As The New York Times reported in January, at one point Iran suffered a drought for 14 consecutive years. The Times noted that after the 1979 revolution that brought the Iranian mullahs to power, the government urged farmers to plant wheat throughout the country, giving farmers inexpensive electricity and favorable prices, which stimulated more planting and the extraction of more and more groundwater. Claudia Sadoff, who created a report for the World Bank on Irans water crisis, stated, 25 percent of the total water that is withdrawn from aquifers, rivers and lakes exceeds the amount that can be replenished by nature.
The text of Netanyahus message is below:
Today I'm going to offer an unprecedented offer to Iran. It relates to water. The Iranian people are victims of a cruel and tyrannical regime that denies them vital water. Israel stands with the people of Iran, and that is why I want to help save countless Iranian lives.
Heres how: Irans meteorological organization says that nearly 96% of Iran suffers from some levels of drought. Issa Kalantari, a former Iranian agricultural minister, said that 50 million Iranians could be forced out of their homes due to environmental damage: 50 million. Millions of Iranian children are suffering due to mismanagement, to incompetence, and the theft of vital resources by the Iranian regime. Now, Israel also has water challenges; weve developed cutting-edge technologies to address them. Israel recycles nearly 90% of its wastewater. Thats far more than any other country on earth. We invented drip irrigation. Our technology targets individual plants with exactly the nutrients they need for each plant. Israel has the know-how to prevent environmental catastrophe in Iran.
I want to share this information with the people of Iran. Sadly, Iran bans Israelis from visiting, so well have to get creative.
We will launch a Farsi website with detailed plans on how Iranians can recycle their wastewater. We will show how Iranian farmers can save their crops and feed their families. The Iranian regime shouts, Death to Israel! In response, Israel shouts, Life! To the Iranian people!
The people of Iran are good and decent; they shouldnt have to face such a cruel regime alone. We are with you. We will help so that millions of Iranians dont have to suffer. The hatred of Irans regime will not stop the respect and the friendship between our two peoples.
Bibi has been very very busy diplomatically. He is continuing an anti-Iran jihad across European capitals. He is also pressuring countries like Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Italy to join sanctions against Iran and to move their embassies to Jerusalem.
Just today in Austria:
Bibi on BBC today:
Trump is busy with RocketMan but Bibi is busy making trouble in the EU. : )
Drought of Biblical proportions in Iran, and if you seek a biblical answer you find that drought is punishment for opposing God's people. The solution is simple, reverse the policy in Iran toward Israel and Iran will prosper. Drought is a curse one brought about by Iranian attitudes and continued belligerence
