Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Miss America Organization Gretchen Carlson announced on Tuesday that the organization was “no longer a pageant” but rather a “contest.” Embed from Getty Images According to the former Miss America named board trustee, now, contestants will be judged only on their intelligence, passion, and their understanding of what it means to be crowned Miss America rather that what society thinks matters most which, historically speaking, has always been beauty. Needless to say, withal, the organization is also doing away with the traditional Miss America gowns in what appears to be some sort of quickening of the current societal implosion. To: Deckard (#0) Let's judge the Miss America contestants the same way they do on the TV show, The Voice. There, the judges sit in a high-backed chair with their backs to the contestant and they make their selection based solely on what they hear. Appearances don't factor into their decision.
