President Donald Trump will host an iftar dinner at the White House next week to recognize the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, according to a White House official, a departure from last year’s decision not to host the traditional post-sundown meal. The iftar dinner is scheduled for Wednesday. The White House official declined to provide a list of attendees. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset and they break the fast with a meal known as an iftar. The White House faced criticism last year for neglecting to host an iftar dinner, breaking with a long-standing tradition embraced by Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Trump has a tense relationship with the Muslim community. During the presidential campaign, Trump called for a "total and complete" ban on all Muslims entering the United States. As president, he has restricted citizens from several Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States. In a statement issued last month marking the start of Ramadan, Trump said, “Ramadan reminds us of the richness Muslims add to the religious tapestry of American life.”

Trump won't drink it anyway. He is quite the teetotaling germophobe. It's a facet of his personality that goes largely unremarked, strangely enough. Of course, Romney was also a teetotal. Two in a row, it seems.
Not two in a row. Romney lost and never was, or will be, President.
Two GOP nominees in a row, obviously. And W claimed to be a reformed alcoholic so if you count him, that would be 3 teetotaling GOP nominees since 2000. IOW, since 2000 the GOP nominee has been a teetotal in four out of five elections. So much for wine, women and song.
Has nothing to do with germs,and everything to do with an older brother who was an alcoholic that drank himself to death. The dangers of alcoholism are both hereditary and obvious to those who grew up seeing it in person.
In the entire history of the world,the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.
He is a teetotaler who is also a germophobe. He admits he is a germophobe, has used the term to describe himself. There. Feel better?

It'd be hilarious if he ordered Federal marshals to take them all into custody pending anal-probe background checks.
