Title: Missing Files Motivated the Leak of Michael Cohen’s Financial Records

Last week, several news outlets obtained financial records showing that Michael Cohen, President Trump’s personal attorney, had used a shell company to receive payments from various firms with business before the Trump Administration. In the days since, there has been much speculation about who leaked the confidential documents, and the Treasury Department’s inspector general has launched a probe to find the source. That source, a law-enforcement official, is speaking publicly for the first time, to The New Yorker, to explain the motivation: the official had grown alarmed after being unable to find two important reports on Cohen’s financial activity in a government database. The official, worried that the information was being withheld from law enforcement, released the remaining documents.

What of the missing SARs? From whom did the additional $3 Million come?

Who gave the order to remove the SARs from the database?

For a law-enforcement agent to risk everything to expose this coverup speaks to the seriousness of the matter and suggests that the leaker may have shared even more details with Avenatti.

Cohen is in deep shit.

What will he be willing to do to save his ass?

We know the answer......

dealing with enemies

Enemies....

In this case, Cohen is the enemy.

He is the enemy of the Rule of Law and the enemy of representative government.

He is a thug who engaged in a shake-down scheme to sell influence - and along the way lined his own pockets and maybe the pockets of others in government.

This was pay-to-play at it's worst - and it was wrong.

Because Cohen will ultimately pull a "John Dean" makes him also POTUS enemy #1.....

Enemies....

In this case, Cohen is the enemy.

I decide who the enemies are.

I voted for Trump, and Trump's policies, which included good relations with Russia, trade restrictions, and other measures that are unpopular with certain entrenched power bases.

Said entrenched power bases have seized the prosecutorial arm of government to try to thwart my will by seeking to destroy the administration of the President I elected to carry out the policies I support.

The objective of the enemy is to prevent the change I want, by using law enforcement to destroy my chosen agent of change.

Because they are trying to stop the change I want, they are by definition the enemy. Because of the tactics they have chosen to use - the only ones available to them as they otherwise have lost control of the government, they must be defeated.

Because they have pulled out some of the stops to try to stop what I want, I want to pull out all of the stops to destroy them so I can get what I want.

I don't particularly care about the corruption of my agents. All men of power are corrupt. Presidents are term limited. They do what they do. As long as they achieve my objectives, I overlook their crimes and corruption. When they try to stop what I want, I want them destroyed as quickly and effectively as possible so that I can achieve what I want.

This is the mindset of Bill Clinton, and his approach to governance. It is effective. I agree with it.

Nixon was a wimp. He resigned. He should have burned the country to the ground and let it destroy itself in a civil war rather than letting the enemies win.

I want my ideas to win. If the democratic processes get there, great. If they don't, then other means are required. Remember: I supported the Civil War and the burning of Georgia to end slavery. WHATEVER it takes.

The Rule of Law is a nice tool. As long as everybody respects it, great. But the enemies don't respect it. They use it cynically. The Clintons handle their enemies very effectively.

John Dean was able to pull a John Dean because Nixon was a milquetoast.

There were no Clinton or Obama-era John Deans. I wonder why that is. Because the Clintons and Obamas were not corrupt?

No, that's not it.

Hmmmm, then, I wonder why.

I want to do what the Clintons and Obamas do to defeat their enemies. It is effective. Nixonian tactics fail. Clintonian tactics win. I like to win.

He only has to do that if Trump doesn't fire the prosecutors, stop the investigations, and give Cohen a plenary pardon (if still necessary).

Trump should step in and end the charade.

He's probably waiting until the mid-terms.

It's a foolish tactic.

If Mr. Cohen has indeed committed the crimes for which he is being investigated, why would you argue for him to be pardoned?

He must be held accountable and be punished if convicted, wouldn't you agree?

Surely you're not suggesting that he is, because of his position, "above the law"?

Based on his/her experience in law enforcement, this individual believed that evidence of a crime was being covered up, and lacking other recourse, sent the evidence to Stormy's attorney who is already engaged with Cohen.

Just my analysis........

I don't agree with any of it.

Every adult can be prosecuted for felonies if subjected to an inquisition. None are without crime.

I am not suggesting that he is "above the law". I am simply stating the fact that our legal system is rotten and oppressive, and is being harnessed here to make political prosecution.

Part of our legal system includes the power of chief executives to pardon people, and to command law enforcement. If the President has committed crimes sufficient to anger the bulk of Congress, he can be impeached. That's the system.

The enemy doesn't want what Trump wants to do, so they're resorting to the Inquisition. My answer is to Trump the inquisition with the power of the king.

Whether the gambit succeeds or fails will depend on control of the political institutions, which will depend on voters.

Leaking information is a crime. Whether the fear of a cover-up legitimizes the crime or not is a decision for prosecutors to make. Prosecutors belong to the executive, and are supposed to be under executive control.

The net effect of this all may very well be the cleansing of half of government through aggressive, selective prosecution. The only question is whether it will be the Trumpist side of government, or the Democrat/Deep State Republican side.

I want to see the Trump side win, and put the other side in jail. The Democrat/GOP Establishment side began this war. They "invaded Poland", so to speak. So now it's war. They want to defeat my side through prosecution. Therefore, I want to see the reins of prosecution turned, and every one of the players on that side subject to a full inquisition, prosecuted for every felony, and sent to prison for the rest of their lives.

We can fight it out through the police forces, or we can have a more general civil war. We didn't start it, they did. But since it's going on now, it's imperative that we win it, no matter the cost. The other side is evil. They are all felons, and they all should be treated the way the Clinton Establishment treats the people who attack it.

What would make him believe that? The numerous files he did have access to showed nothing criminal, so why would the two he didn't have access to be any different?

"Since we can't find evidence of a crime, he must be covering up that evidence." Is that your theory?

Who gave the order to remove the SARs from the database?

I see reporting now that the Cohen records are not missing at all from the database. Some official gave an order to segregate all the Cohen records in the Treasury system so not just anyone could get hold of them. Closing the barn door after the horse escaped, it seems. But there may be more records that didn't get leaked to Avenatti yet so it makes some sense.

Not his job, well above his pay grade. And illegal to boot. Nothing authorized this puny file clerk to decide he could do what he wants because he's a simmering little liberal simp who doesn't like Trump.

He'll be prosecuted. I'd guess he'll spend a few years in a Club Fed for this one. Maybe even a real penitentiary. The ultra-wealthy and the bankers will likely demand a harsh penalty because they don't want leaks of confidential bank info to become public. A lot of people would be very unhappy with their banks if they knew that the bank had filed a SAR report on them, unhappy enough to move their accounts elsewhere or even to start suing the banks over their standards for SAR reporting. That's the last thing these banks want.

There were reports about a week ago, not very widely covered. Maybe Stormy was on the libmedia shows flashing her boobs again so they didn't have time to cover it.

Notice they are just lifting links and quotes to far better known sources.

Political Wire: Cohen’s Financial Records Are Not Missing

“Records pertaining to the financial activities of President Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen are not missing from a government database; rather Treasury Department officials have taken the highly unusual step of restricting access to them even from certain law enforcement agencies,” BuzzFeed News reports.

“The New Yorker reported that a law enforcement official — worried the information about Cohen’s banking records had been removed from government databases and therefore might be covered up — had admitted to leaking some of what was still accessible.”

If I have the timeline correct, that little bitch who leaked a few records to the press because he was so worried about records disappearing is even more guilty than it would first appear.

They can nail him to the wall for this if Snoozy Jeff at DOJ wants to. Mnuchin is likely to insist on it.

He wasn't always so clean. Doing business internationally and even in corrupt places like NYC means sooner or later you have to do business with unsavory characters. The Dem pols, the courts, the mob-owned linen and trash services, the casino moguls, etc.

But he did keep pretty clean in his presidential run, considering how extensive his corporate name brand is involved in big real estate projects around the world, often in unsavory countries that are blatantly corrupt by our standards.

I don't.

I WOULD care if we had a consistent set of laws, and had already imprisoned the Clintons, Obama, Terri Macauliffe, the Bushes, and a whole freak parade of influence peddlers over the years. I care so much I'd like to see all of them broken, stripped of their wealth and imprisoned.

So yes, I care.

But the care has been burnt out of me by reality. All of those criminals walk Scot-free, and hypocrites like you don't care. You just want to get my guy, Trump. So actually, no, I DON'T care anymore. The government is corrupt and unsalvageable. Influence peddling is the name of the game. The Clintons literally killed people. When I say I would like Trump to act like the Clintons I mean that - I think they are killers- they use their power and influence to literally kill off their opponents, which is why nobody dares oppose them. I really believe that. And I would like to see Trump behave exactly like the Clintons - SO MANY car accidents, suicides, Vince Fosters. It's just that now MY GUY would be murdering his political opponents, like the Clintons do.

BECAUSE we turned a blind eye to the Clintons when they did it, I am now eager to see MY GUY start killing off the hateworthy scum who seek to destroy him.

This is what happens when one side plays violent and vicious for so long. Folks decide that the game can't be won because the rules are broken, so they go violent. You've heard my comments on the Civil War before - because slavery was so evil, and the country was unable to fix it legally, I'm GLAD that we had a civil war that killed a million people to end it. It strikes me as JUSTICE. Same with the firebombing of Dresden and the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Once one side gets SO evil that they destroy lives and trample on them, they arouse my hatred and I want to see them dead.

Trump should fire Mueller and Rosenstein and Sessions now, and appoint a special prosecutor to investigate them, Obama and the Clintons. If they can be brought to justice under our system, that would be great.

Truth is, our system is so rotten with corruption I don't really believe that justice is possible under it. I don't really think I care anymore. I didn't used to hate the opposition, but I have come to see them as a mortal enemy.

So when I see you in their ranks, firing bullets at my guy, willfully oblivious to the utter hypocrisy of it all.

Well, that's why civil wars happen. No, I don't care if my guy breaks the law and murders people. I DID care, but the CLintons did it, and the Bushes did it. And OBama does it. Now my guy is in charge, and I hope HE does it, to YOUR guys this time. Because that's the way the game is played, until the civil war cleanses the palate.

Entendez-vous dans la campagne mugirent ces farouches soldats? Ils viennent jusqu'a dans nos bras, egorger nos fils et nos compagnes. Aux armes, citoyens! Formez vos battalions! Marchons! Marchons! Qu'un sang impur abreuve nos sillons!
