JERUSALEM (NBCNC) – An Israeli organization has minted a coin bearing President Donald Trump’s image to honor his decision to move the American embassy to Jerusalem. The Mikdash Educational Center said Wednesday that the “Temple Coin” featured Trump alongside King Cyrus, who 2,500 years ago allowed Jews to return to Jerusalem from their exile in Babylon. A representative from the center said that they wanted to honor President Trump on the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence. The Mikdash Educational Center has minted 1,000 biblical half-shekel coins that can be purchased with a minimum donation of $50. The coin can’t be used as currency. It has a diameter of two inches. The standard coin, made from pewter and plated with about a third-of-an-ounce of silver, and will be sold for $50. There is also a limited series of gold-plated coins which will sell for $70. Mikdash calls itself a non-profit educational and religious organization. Rabbi Mordechai Persoff said, “We are very happy to announce that the Mikdash Educational Center just produced a new Cyrus-Trump Temple coin. This special coin was produced and minted for the 70 years of the independence of the State of Israel and to honor and praise President Donald Trump who promised, but not only promised, also fulfilled his promise and next week will move the American Embassy to Jerusalem. “President Trump is starting a prophetic process by moving the American Embassy to Jerusalem. Just like King Cyrus 2,500 years ago said: ‘he charged me to build a house in Jerusalem’, here again, President Trump is building a house in Jerusalem.”

I've seen variations of this coin and wonder which one is genuine. From the temple site this image shows a coin which can be used in the future temple (whenever that happens). THE HALF SHEKEL MEDAL IS FROM PUTER METAL WITH AT LEAST 9.6 GRAMS OF HALACHICALLY REQUIRED PURE SILVER :INCOME FROM SALE OF THE COIN WILL BE USED FOR THREE MAJOR PURPOSES BUILDING THE TEMPLE PRACTICING PROCEDURES FOR THE SACRIFICIAL RITUALS PREPARING SPIRITUALLY, RITUALLY AND EDUCATIONALLY FOR TEMPLE SERVICES
To be compared with King Cyrus is probably the highest praise a Gentile can receive. It would rank higher than a shabbat-goi, a Sabbath Gentile. King Cyrus is about the only good Gentile in the Old Testament. I'm sure Trump would love to have a few of these coins though. His likeness on the coin isn't bad, shows some artistry. The Lion of Judah seal next to the presidential seal is a nice touch with the incribed menorah overhead. I even like the Hebrew and English fonts they used for the text. It does almost look like an existing coin design of King Cyrus and they just overlaid a Trump image over the good king. Anyway, it made me think that when I looked close, like Trump was a late addition to the design.
Great thread! But this fulfillment of prophecy by Trump is only one of many that Trump has fulfill so far, and he is only halfway through his presidency. First let's begin with this one. Not only is it prophesied in the Old Testament (as the Jewish coin and author so beautifully point out); but it is also prophesied in the New Testament numerous times. In the Gospels Jesus often says "This generation will not pass away until all is fufuilled." He is talking about those born after the rebirth of Isreal (or the fig tree) in 1948. A generation is usually interpreted as 70 years (in the Old Testament) and in the New Testament as 80. But for Jerusalem (Old Testament) stuff it is always 70 years. And Trump made Jerusalem the capital of Jerusalem at precisely the 70-year mark just as it says on the coin and in the Bible. Trump still needs to do a few more things (such as finish wiping out ISIS and all of the many variations/spin-offs of the 7th head of Satan). But by the end of Donald Trump's reign (as the 45th rider of the pale horse), all will be fulfilled. Then we will enter the long awaited thousand years of heaven on earth (as it is in heaven).
You may or may not be right about rebuilding the Temple. Personally, I have serious doubts. For one thing, Jesus came to end animal sacrifices, and forever as far as I can tell. Why would you or anyone think the Temple will be rebuilt? (Even if it is to be rebuilt, I personally know the current head Levite who is next in line to become the High Priest, and he is very nice guy. I am pretty sure he would allow any Christian who desires to, to worship God in the so-called "Jewish" Temple.

I too would love to have a couple of those coins, but I dont have the kind of money that Donald Trump has. But I am going to now start saving my pennies. (Even if it is "a reproduction of an ancient temple coin with an image of Trump overlaid on it" as both you and the article point out. Still want it). Greatest commemorative coin ever.

That would really upset the Palestinians more than they are already upset. Plus Jesus came to end animal sacrifices and I'm pretty sure it would upset Jesus/God also. That said, I do like the coin though, and simply because Trump did fulfill prophecy when he made Jerusalem Israel's capital. Trump fulfills prophecy so often its making my head swim to think about it. But getting back to the 70 year time period, Over the years and especially now-days, God typically only lets evil reign for 70 years and at that point it is cut off, as was also the case for the Soviet Union for another modern example. Conversely, Christian nations typically last a thousand years, as also the original Israel did. Israel lasted for precisely 1000 years to the day (from 1000 BC until 70 AD, but for precisely 1000 years after you subtract the 70 years they were in captivity in Babylon. Now, and beginning on May 14th, 2018, modern Israel will once again rule Jerusalem for precisely 1000 years. That's how God rolls, and any resistance is futile.
