Avenatti alleged that Cohen received the following payments after the 2016 election: approximately half-a-million dollars from a company linked to Viktor Vekselberg, a Russian oligarch with close ties to the Kremlin; nearly $400,000 from pharmaceutical giant Novartis; $150,000 from Korea Aerospace Industries and $200,000 from telecommunications conglomerate AT&T.

The payments were made to the same bank account that Cohen had created in 2016 to execute the now infamous hush payment to Daniels, Avenatti said.

The stakes are sky-high for Cohen, who is currently under a federal criminal investigation by the US attorney's office in Manhattan and had his home, hotel room and office raided last month.

Two bits on the under!

Cohen would be stupid to not cooperate with Mueller, considering that his records and papers were seized and are now being used by Muellers investigation.

He can sue later, after Muellers investigation is declared a witch hunt..

Not that it's anyone's business, but Trump paid his attorney $35,000 per month as a retainer -- way before the porn star demanded hush money. That money was to be used at the attorney's discretion in service to his client.

The monthly retainer continues to be paid.

Anything and everything as deemed necessary by his attorney. The public has n no "right to know" about private matters between Trump and his attorney, or how m much Trump is paying his attorney, or what the money is used for.

Had Trump u used campaign funds (which he didn't), that would be different.

Considering Mr. Cohen is under investigation for Bank and Wire fraud and Campaign finance violations....and considering that a federal judge signed a search warrant for his records....

It might be reasonable to conclude that the money given to Cohen might not have been used for proper purposes....

The money given to Cohen from whom? He got approximately half-a-million dollars from a company linked to Viktor Vekselberg, nearly $400,000 from Novartis, $150,000 from Korea Aerospace Industries and $200,000 from AT&T.

But you're suggesting that, of all that money given to him, Cohen improperly used only the money he got from Trump?

No.

I'm suggesting that he was laundering all the cash and paying off/buying off individuals other than just Stormy....

As the story develops, it is becoming clear that Mr. Cohen was selling access to the WH

- "Novartis paid Trump lawyer Michael Cohen $1.2 million for advice on Obamacare – work he was unable to do..."

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/09/novartis-paid-trumps-lawyer-michael-cohen-more- than-1-million-for-work-he-was-unable-to-do-company-says.html

I saw one article that put the $ figure "received" by Cohen at $4 - $5 million in the past year and a half..

From various sources and all funneled through the shell company he set up for the purpose of paying off Stormy...

A rational person would look at this situation and conclude that there is some greasy shit going on, and Mr. Cohen is up to his eyes in all of it.

Laundering? First I've heard of it.

As for paying off/buying off individuals who may be an embarrassment to his clients, that was part of his job. Nothing illegal about that.
