And he will, after reaping a lot of free publicity for his name brand. I think he might agree with Trump on one thing: there's no such thing as bad publicity. That sounds like a choice." Kanye is right. It WAS a choice. A dual choice. The Whites chose to do it. And the Blacks chose to submit to it, rather than rising en masse and murdering the Whites. When peasants and serfs and slaves rise en masse, sometimes they win. In Haiti, the French masters were destroyed and the French government driven out. In the Virgin Islands, the slaves revolted and refused to work, and massed around the government buildings demanding that the Danish colonial government decree their freedom. The government had two choices: do so, or refuse to do so and face probable violence and death. The Whites submitted, issued the decree, and that was that: the slaves were freed. There was no fighting or killing. The peasants of France did not gain their equality by requesting it: they overthrew the government by force. They endured their status for centuries, and then decided not to. They always had the power in numbers to do that. They bore with imposition for as long as it was bearable. Then they broke the chains. America did not obtain its independence from Great Britain by requesting it. Slaves who revolt pay a terrible price. But then, slaves who don't revolt do also.
