Title: Paul Ryan is third casualty of GOP dysfunction in 20 years. Is major change afoot?

Paul Ryan is the third GOP speaker casualty in 20 years. The historic level of departures and dysfunction suggests we may be on the cusp of major political change.

For the first 200 years of this nation’s history, only three House speakers resigned from office, all because they were accepting other political appointments. But in just the past 20 years, an equal number of House speakers, all of them Republicans, have decided to depart under very different circumstances.

Rep. Paul Ryan is voluntarily surrendering a job considered so important it is second only to the vice president in the line of succession to the presidency. That reflects some terrible truths about the state of American politics: House Republicans have become completely unmanageable, making it almost impossible for the GOP to govern. And Congress is more polarized and dysfunctional than it has been since the years before the Civil War.

Much of the coverage about Ryan’s decision focuses on the likelihood that Democrats will win a majority of seats and gain control of the House in November. Ryan is certainly the highest profile Republican not to seek re- election. But he joins a list of 30 others who are leaving at the end of this session or who have already done so, plus 13 Republicans who are leaving the House to run for the Senate or a governorship.

Truly a lame effort at diversion.

Anyway.....

I've seen the over/under for republican's "choosing to not seek reelection" set at 50.......

I'd take the OVER

I'd take the OVER

Don't you mean bend- OVER?? (ok, that was lame...)

But after all, THAT is liberal-Left politics at its very foundation, isn't it?

Even the ultra-conservative House Speaker has had enough of the shitnado that is the "it's all about me!" administration....

HUH?? You really haven't clue, do you? Paul Ryan, "ultra-conservative"?? Bwaahaaa!!

The truth is, Paul Ryan is ducking out likely because he's about to be exposed for his back-stabbing treachery and collusion with Democrats.

I don't even want to imagine life through your bizarro-world lens. You obviously don't have any sane clue of reality by the way you process the Trump Admin accomplishments.

Where do you formulate such characterizations? "Shitnado" and "'it's all about me!' administration" -- how did you get there? Seriously. Can you tell us which political site you frequent? Or which Tee-Bee shows and hosts you bond with politically? It's as though you visit another planet and return to LF to share what appears to us as pre-packaged, pre-fed Goebbelian Alpo.

Despite all the non-stop smears, lies and sabotage endured by Trump from 95% of the MSM and half his own Party (R), lead by "ultra-conservatives"(?!?) Paul Ryan and McConnell (who actively collude with Democrats), the man and his staffs are doing MORE for MORE Americans across ALL demographics lines than any American President since Reagan. NOTE: Trump, a billionaire didn't need to be President. He did so to help restore America as a great nation in every way.

Conversely, 0bama HATED the USA. He is a Communist and racist. He governed like a tin-horn third world petty dictator, undermining the American Middle Class standard of living while making himself and his hubby Multi-Millionaires. Does that bother you? Do you even question his motives or policies?

Oh...and by defining the Presidency as a "shitnado"...and "'it's all about me!" administration', you obviously live by the mantra or cutsy word -- all hallmarks of liberals with superiority complexes which are as delusional as their claim for supposed "tolerance". "Hypocrisy", thy name is Liberal-Democrat.

Pretty funny huh?

I write most of my own material, which explains the occasional spelling error.

Can you tell us which political site you frequent?

I don't frequent any particular sites. I have the Google news page which provides a pretty diverse number of sources. I only block a few with annoying pay walls...

If I find something particularly interesting I'll look for the source.

which Tee-Bee shows and hosts you bond with politically?

I don't watch the national news or any of the "all opinion all the time" talking head shows. I will surf my local news options in the AM for traffic and weather though.

It's as though you visit another planet and return to LF to share what appears to us as pre-packaged, pre-fed Goebbelian Alpo.

Nothing "pre-packaged" - unlike many of the posters who type (poorly) the "almost remembered correctly" paraphrased talking points from one of the shills on the radio...

I formulate my own opinions, which are subject to change at any time.

Thanks for answering those questions.

From those G00gles sources, you must have absorbed quite a bit of propaganda and disinfo to come to your horrendously erroneous conclusions of "truth".

To witness that degree of auto cyber-lobotomy taking place without patient knowledge just from G00gle "news" is...sad.

Doubtful.

As I said, I check the sources of the facts I find interesting, and I check the credentials of those who write opinion pieces.

Perhaps you should pull up the Google News page and check out the sources for yourself, - they do a pretty good job of including most of the major news sources....CNN, NY TImes, WAPO, Washington Times, ABC, CBS, NBC, BBC, USA Today.... or don't, I couldn't care less.

I'll trust the sources cited by most of these before I'll fall for the clickbait propaganda of "sources" like fromthetrenchesreport, gellerreport, zerohedge, bearingarms, or foxnews.

All your sources have been involved in fake news Except perhaps the BBC and Washington Times.

You're correct in that noting the Washington TIMES has NOT been a disseminater of Fake News.

BBC as well as all Jameson's other "News" sources have indeed reported Fake News HEAVILY.

Please provide some proof of your claim.

And more importantly, please disprove as "fake news" any article to which I have cited.

Please provide some proof of your claim.

1 + 1 =2.

One day you'll understand the simple concept of addition, deduction, logic, and critical thinking. INDEPENDENT of "G00gle".

Why do you off-handedly dismiss eyewitness accounts as well? Do you require a central "authority" to tell you what "truth" is??

Why do you off-handedly dismiss eyewitness accounts as well?

Because it is wise to question the source.

Because it is wise to question the source.

"Wise" in your opinion is defined conditionally ONLY in cases that conservatives report the truth. Gotcha.
