Title: F.B.I. Raids Office of Trump’s Longtime Lawyer Michael Cohen

The F.B.I. on Monday raided the office of President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, seizing records related to several topics including payments to a pornographic-film actress.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained the search warrant after receiving a referral from the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, according to Mr. Cohen’s lawyer, who called the search “completely inappropriate and unnecessary.” The search does not appear to be directly related to Mr. Mueller’s investigation, but likely resulted from information he had uncovered and gave to prosecutors in New York.

“Today the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York executed a series of search warrants and seized the privileged communications between my client, Michael Cohen, and his clients,” said Stephen Ryan, his lawyer. “I have been advised by federal prosecutors that the New York action is, in part, a referral by the Office of Special Counsel, Robert Mueller.”

Mr. Cohen plays a role in aspects of the special counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He also recently said he paid $130,000 to a pornographic-film actress, Stephanie Clifford, who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump. Ms. Clifford is known as Stormy Daniels.

Mr. Ryan said Mr. Cohen has cooperated with authorities and turned over thousands of documents to congressional investigators looking into Russian election meddling.

The payments to Ms. Clifford are only one of many topics being investigated, according to a person briefed on the search. The F.B.I. also seized emails, tax documents and business records, the person said.

But if Hillary Bullshit Felon signs on a witness and co-conspirator to her crimes as her personal attorney, then has her sit in on the fake FBI "interview", well .......... that's not a problem at all.

Innocent of what, exactly?

Actually it is of what he is guilty.

It has already been established that the Russians interfered with the US election of 2018. on DD45's behalf.

I do not believe for a moment that members of the orange team were not aware and involved.

I do not believe for a moment that if any member of team pussy-grabber were aware or involved, that DD45 was NOT aware and involved.

He is, after all a "win at all costs guy" who must have his fingers in everything, right?

If it can be proved that he or his people were aware and involved, it will be very difficult for DD to remain in power.

Mueller has already secured indictments, plea deals, and most recently, a conviction - which are being used as leverage to reach the ultimate goal; which is to find out "why" it was so important to assure this outcome.

Once the "why" is out in the open - the republicans will convince Herr dumb- ass to step aside.

I did though, simply because she was not "him"

I have to wonder if there aren't a handful of honorable DOInjustice or Feeble Bunch of Incompetents who see this clusterfuck and will blow the whistle about what is really going on in the Mueller/Rosenstein/Comey/Odumbass/Clowtoon cabal.

I think they're absolutely desperate to deflect attention and possibly even get rid of Trump before their own crimes and coverups are exposed.

This will probably be an inflection point in our nation's history, one way or the other.

Right, the entire Intelligence community and Justice department is somehow secretly conspiring to frame Donnie dip-shit......

Mueller, Comey, Odumbass and Mrs. Shithead all colluded in the Uranium One scandal, they all participated in the Benghazi coverup, instructing subordinates to LIE to the victims' families and they all colluded to sweep Mrs. Shithead's conscious theft and exposure of classified national-security documents on an insecure toy bathroom server.

And yes, they DID conspire to cook up phony "Russian collusion" attacks on Donald Trump to first torpedo his campaign, then, when that failed, to frame him with a fabricated "dossier" created and paid for by the Mrs. Shithead campaign. The collusion with Russians was constructed by the DNC and the Mrs. Shithead campaign via Perkins-Coie, Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele. We know that; it's out there on the record; don't go trying to blow smoke up our baracks about it.

The 'Rats conspired and colluded with Russians to rig a campaign win for Mrs. Shithead, period. Not Trump. Not the nutless GOPussies. The 'Rats.

Once we see the 302s and FISC applications, then work out Comey and McCabe's obstruction of justice in that matter, I think it'll start to unravel this summer. And don't forget - Magoo-Mueller preceded Comey during Benghazi, the stolen classified emails and Uranium One. Yeah, I follow this stuff closely because I'm an American, I'm not as dumb as a democRat and I care.

As the Odumbass domestic-spying scandal metastasizes this summer, you democRats are really, REALLY going to hate 2018.

I did not say invade Russia. My presumption was that Russia - who has issued the warnings about taking action if we do anything in Syria - would actually try to take that action. If the Russians attack, we will destroy the Russians that attack. We don't have to invade Russia. We don't have to do anything to Russia, and shouldn't.

What we SHOULD do is militarily strike Syria to take out Assad, because he's a butcher and his continued rule there is a menace to us.

We should tell the Russians that we are going to take out the Syrian regime unless they control Assad and stop the nonsense. If they do that, then they get to keep their port in Tartarus, which is their only port in the Mediterranean. But we will not be deterred by their threats of action, because they cannot take military action against the United States without being defeated. We are much, much stronger than Russia militarily. Putin is not going to blow up the world over Syria - THEREFORE we are going to have our way there. The Russians can decide if our way will be to kill Assad and allow a new government to come into place, which will probably order the Russians out of their base, and thereby drive them out of the Mediterranean Sea completely, OR THEY can control Assad, in which case he can stay and be civilized. But Assad is not going to be permitted, then, to use poison gas, to kill civilians friendly to us. He can be a palace eunuch, under Russian control, so the Russians keep their base, OR we can kill him, hand Syria over to new rulers, and the Russians will have to go.

And yeah, we CAN destroy the Russian Army and Navy and Air Force in Syria, pretty easily, and no, Putin will not blow up the world over that any more than we did over losing Vietnam.

The problem is that Russia has played a dangerous game of brinkmanship in Syria, but the US is now provoked, and Trump does not seem likely to back down. Therefore Putin will back down: by controlling Assad (better for Russia), or he will hang tough and threaten harm to the US if we remove Assad. In which case we remove Assad and tell Putin: Russia is too weak to fight us. All you have is nukes, and if you use those, you commit suicide. If you're going to commit suicide over Syria, do it. If not, leave. And take you fleet with you. If the Russians fight us in Syria, we annihilate their army and their navy in Syria. No need to invade Russia at all.

They have chosen to get in bed with a war criminal. They can stay in bed with him, and he can live, if they control him like a puppet and stop the nonsense. Otherwise, the dominos fall, and in the end Russia either blinks, or goes to war and is defeated, or blows up the world and ends humanity.

If DD45 even tweeted that he "felt" as if he should fire Mueller...

the leadership in the house and senate would meet with the "president" and notify him that they would no longer give him any cover, and that he must resign.

He would then pardon anyone who he could later force into helping him, and resign in anger at 10:15 on a Friday night...

To which he would reply "NO", and then the mother of all Constitutional crises would begin.

Where that would end is difficult to say.

The leadership might agree on impeachment and do it, but would the Senate agree by a 2/3rds majority? And would the President simply passively watch as they did this?

Would the People?

Would Trump let himself be removed by an attempted Congressional coup? Doubt it.

There are plenty of non-politicians loyal to the President. And that's where things get interesting.

Trump should fire Mueller tomorrow.

Nobody can be forced to resign. Nixon resigned to avoid a political civil war. Trump is far more likely to say "Bring it!" to the political civil war. And the funny thing about political civil wars is that they usually don't stay political.

Truth is, Americans hate each other about as much as our politicians do.

Will the losing side accept defeat and submit in a nation with so...many...guns?

I doubt it. But call me an optimist. Don't assume that because Nixon blinked that every President has to blink. Trump's not likely to blink. Then will Congress blink?

Hey Hank, ICYMI - here's some news:

The evidence sought by investigators reportedly relates to bank fraud and campaign finance violations, both of which primarily point to one thing. Cohen apparently used a home equity credit line to borrow the $130,000 he paid Stormy Daniels for her silence just weeks before the 2016 election. If Cohen lied to obtain credit from a federally insured financial institution, that is a felony punishable by up to 30 years’ imprisonment. And because the payment was likely an in-kind contribution to the Trump campaign, it could constitute a willful violation of campaign contribution limits, a separate felony punishable by up to five years’ imprisonment.

That the investigation of Cohen was apparently referred by special counsel Robert Mueller to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York—a Trump appointee—is an early indication that at this point, the matter is not directly related to the Russia investigation. But that doesn’t mean Trump’s exposure is any less serious. Cohen knows where the LLCs are hidden. He’s been at the center of Trump’s financial universe for decades. If he is as exposed as he seems on the Daniels payment, one wonders what information he might be able to offer prosecutors—including Mueller—in exchange for a deal.

In addition, while the guilty pleas of Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, deputy campaign chair Rick Gates, and former national security adviser Michael Flynn were all significant, none of them directly jeopardized the president the way a Cohen deal would. If the FBI seized evidence showing that Trump directed Cohen’s payment to Daniels, Trump may also have committed a felony violation of campaign finance law. If Cohen and Trump worked together to come up with the scheme, they might also both be guilty of conspiring to commit a campaign finance violation. And if Trump (notwithstanding his recent denial) actually knew that he was the beneficiary of the nondisclosure agreement, he might be guilty of a separate offense—failing to report that asset on his personal financial disclosure form.

The vast majority of Americans care more about American Idol, The Real Housewives, and what is going on with the Kardashians than whether or not DD45 remains as golfer-in-chief....

People as dumb as a democRat always seem to assume everybody else is as dumb as a democRat.

This is why you'll lose in November and won't understand why this time around either. Then you can stay pissed off at your ignominious defeat for years to come.
