Stock tumbled to the lowest in four months after the sports store banned assault-style weapons from its Field & Stream stores and raised the minimum age for a customer to buy a firearm from 18 to 21. However, the store has also suffered problems with overstocking and high discounts, as well as increased competition from places like Nike and Amazon. After the Parkland school shooting last month that killed 17, Dick’s executives were aghast to learn that the young gunman had bought one of his many guns from them, though not the one he used in the shooting. As a sign of solidarity with the student protesters calling for gun control laws, Dick’s announced it would no longer sell assault-style firearms and high-capacity magazines. The athletic gear company instituted a similar ban after the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting but rescinded it a few months later by introducing assault weapons to its Field & Stream stores. This time the ban is permanent, Dick’s says. “Thoughts and prayers are not enough,” the company said in a statement. “We support and respect the Second Amendment, and we recognize and appreciate that the vast majority of gun owners in this country are responsible, law-abiding citizens. But we have to help solve the problem that’s in front of us.” “There’s going to be some pushback and we expected that,” said CEO Edward Stack, in an earnings call with Wall Street analysts, according to CNN. “There are going to be the people who don’t shop us anymore for anything.” The decision is “not going to be positive from a traffic standpoint and a sales standpoint,” Stack predicted. The company’s shares fell 7.3 percent after going up 13 percent this year. Sales failed to hit the projected $2.74 billion, tapering off at $2.66 billion for this quarter. I bought 3 pairs of work boots their last year. I bought my daughter a nice jacket there for Christmas last year. I bought my other daughter a couple of those expensive North Face shirts for Christmas. I bought my other daughter and her boyfriend some frisbee golf stuff for christmas. There was some other stuff too for Christmas. I've bought fishing nets there before. I've bought bicycles there before, tennis rackets too. I've never bought a gun there. I will never shop there again. Neither will my son he told me.

Jesus Christ- buy a sword. Guns are ethical. Jesus said so. Oz land of the eunuchs.
So why do you eunuchs have a military. You just said your military is unethical. I mean they might hurt someone. Eunuch nation needs to disarm the military to be consistent.
I'll just mention that I did post that peeing-on-the-fence graphic.
I'd like to see more about the general sales numbers. Dick's did do a lot of low-profit/no-profit sales to keep luring people through the doors and try to drive the competition out of business or away from trying to compete on sales of some high-value merchandise. Dick's needs to be punished by gunowners, especially ones like you who did your firearms business elsewhere but still bought a lot of other gear from them. You have to wonder if we'll see the rise of other sports goods and gun shops to fill the void. I think you will. If Dick's and Walmart are crossed off the shopping lists of gunowners, that will divert a huge amount of business to other gun-friendly shops. They'll expand, be more profitable, drive down their own prices due to volume purchasing, etc. You're the regular customer that Dick's fears the most. But they still chose to pick the gungrabber side and they should pay the price for it.
I take issue with this, frankly. While statistics won't matter to any of the families of the killed and wounded in the Florida school shooting, as a national issue, the number killed and wounded in school shootings is a tiny fraction of all students who die nationally as a result of accident or violence. Treating this as a "problem that needs to be solved" is seeking a utopian solution where none is possible.
Guns are ethical. Jesus said so. He also said two were enough. You don't have Jesus on your side because his system works differently
