Title: Report: Special Counsel Robert Mueller Focusing on Trump Obstruction, Not Collusion

pecial counsel Robert Mueller has focused on events since the election — not during the campaign — in his conversations with President Trump’s lawyers, Axios reported Monday.

“That suggests a focus on obstruction of justice while in office, rather than collusion with Russia during the campaign,” the report said.

The report said the top two topics that Mueller has expressed interest in so far are the firings of FBI director James Comey and national security adviser Michael Flynn.

President Trump fired Comey last May, under the recommendation of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. However, in an interview, Trump said the Russia investigation was also on his mind.

Comey told lawmakers that Trump had asked him to let former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn go — who was under FBI investigation — during a private conversation. The president has denied making any such request.

Comey later admitted he took notes after conversations with the president, and he gave them to at least one friend to pass to the media after he was no longer FBI director, for the purpose of prompting the appointment of a special counsel.

Mueller’s team has been negotiating with White House lawyers to work out the specifics of an interview with Trump within “the next few weeks,” according to Axios.

The “big question” is whether it will be in person, in writing, or a combination of the two.

Kenneth Starr, the special counsel whose investigation led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, told Fox News recently that he did not see any evidence of obstruction of justice by Trump.

“I’ve seen nothing in … the firing of [former FBI Director] James Comey and all of the aftermath that suggest the president has obstructed justice,” he told Fox News on February 28.

The president tweeted repeatedly over the weekend about the special counsel investigation, reflecting his deep frustration over the matter.

If Axios’s report is true, it would mean the president was aware during his tweeting that Mueller’s interest is on obstruction of justice, rather than any alleged collusion.

The president attacked Comey — who is set to launch a book tour next month.

“Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI — A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!” he tweeted on Saturday.

Trump also reiterated that there was “no collusion.”

“As the House Intelligence Committee has concluded, there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump Campaign. As many are finding out, however, there was tremendous leaking, lying and corruption at the highest levels of the FBI, Justice & State. #DrainTheSwamp.”

He continued tweeting about the probe into Sunday: “The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime. It was based on fraudulent activities and a Fake Dossier paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC, and improerly used in FISA COURT for surveillance of my campaign. WITCH HUNT!”

On Monday, the president continued: “A total WITCH HUNT with massive conflicts of interest!”

Despite his tweets, White House lawyer Ty Cobb said the president had no intention of firing Mueller.

“In response to media speculation and related questions being posed to the Administration, the White House yet again confirms that the President is not considering or discussing the firing of the Special Counsel, Robert Mueller,” he said in a statement.

Exactly. BAM!

Why are you so upset over Mueller now? It's been about a year and he knows it is time to wind the investigation down. Is he getting close to the truth?

True in a sense. EXCEPT there was something "there" in the case of Clintoon.

That is true of all men, and particularly all rich and powerful men, for "All have sinned" (St. Paul).

If they dig into Trump's business dealings long enough and hard enough, they will find tax accounting they will be able to label as fraudulent.

Likewise, if they characterize what Trump has done with regards to the Comey firing and the investigation, they can charge obstruction of justice. Impanel the right group of DC Democrat grand jurors and Trump will be indicted.

Then the Democrats, joined by Lady Lindsey and the rest of the Republican Establishment angry at Trump's ascendance, will impeach him. I doubt they will have the votes to remove him though.

Given that, Trump should just cut off the cancer and burn the stump. Fire Goldstein. Fire Mueller. Appoint special prosecutors to go after the Clintons and Obama and the DNC. Purge them before they purge you.

What will that mean for the mid-terms? The Democrats will probably win the mid-terms no matter what, and if they win the House, Trump will be impeached no matter what.

He should expect impeachment, but expect that the Dems will NOT win 67 votes in the Senate, which means he's not actually removable. And then he should destroy the Democrats through political prosecution, just like they are trying to destroy him.

Vic, what the Clintons did in the name of greed was far beyond mere "sin" during their time as Gov and Prez. Citing Paul in this case doesn't score you or the Clintons any points. The subject is justice. And righteous chastisement. The Clintons PLOTTED evil. Covered it up with multiple cases of murder. PROVEN.

It's not fair to conflate the "sins" of you, me, and Trump with...The Clintons.

Yes, Trump needs to fire a bunch of people a let the chip fall.

I also expect an eventual attempt at "Impeachment," only to create a social media circus and feeding frenzy as a desperate measure to stop him from winning in 2020.

He lied to the VP and to Trump about his own lack of disclosures about foreign entanglements. Trump fired his ass as a result. It had nothing to do with Mueller's investigation.

Actually the dnc hack investigator said they believed Flynn. So no he did not "lie" but they went a head and prosecuted him until he could not finacially defend himself. If the investigators and the judge(who all were DNC hacks) would have told Flynn's lawyer at the time he did not lie then the trial would have been over. But Muleface needed a conviction even if it was corrupted. The judge in the case was removed by a high judge and this wasn't the first time that judge was removed for playing politics. Personally I hope Flynn sues the shit out of Comey, Mueller and the judge. You have to disclose everything and they did not which is a no no.

Its time for Congress step in and demand evidence or shut the investigation down ie witch hunt to find crap on Trump so they can remove him. If they fail to stop Trump he will dismantle the socialist pigs ie crony capitalist in charge. I guess you want socialist pigs running the government like Obama and hillary?

Why?

They only investigate those that rock the boat. Look at Clinton. She should be wearing orange. There was so much evidence against her that they could have convicted ten peons but nothing happen and it lasted about as long a fart. Trump did nothing and its lasted nearly a year with no end in sight and they have zero evidence of any wrong doing! Is this what you want? One sided investigation of those trying to do the right thing while corrupt people get the "we feel there was no intention to commit a crime, not guilty! Next!"

Or even better, indict and prosecute ALL the players in this charade. (WHY is Mueller avoiding this?? OH WAIT.)

Flynn was obviously railroaded and framed by ILLEGAL means. The PTB are trying to do the same of Donald Trump.

Mueller's Witch Hunt Part 2 can NOT be allowed to move further. DESPITE conspicuously timed support by Mitch McConnell and threats of "impeachment" by Lady Lindsey and Jeff Flake.

Anyone who disbelieves in the clear-cut case of corruption and collusion of the GOPe and RNC with Democrats in trying to launch their coup of America's duly elected President is painfully naive or stupid.

Shit or get off the pot.

As much as I don't like you, you do have a point. Trump is the President. Sessions is his servant. So is Rosenstein. So is Mueller (by and by). The President does not have to let these guys dither and destabilize his presidency.

Order Sessions to fire Rosenstein and Mueller. Sessions does it, or Trump fires Sessions and puts in there somebody who will do so. Then those guys are gone.

Do it now, before the mid-terms.

Now the GOP has two choices: back the President and ride out the storm, or attack him, and perhaps be swept away by it.

If the Democrats win the House, Trump will be impeached. So what. Impeached just means charged. Trump still has the power until he is REMOVED. That takes 67 votes in the Senate. They're not there.

So, Trump survives impeachment, the country is divided. Meanwhile, Trump's new Attorney General prosecutes Hillary, and Bill, and Comey, and Mueller, and Lady Lindsey, and puts out the truth about Obama.

The Left and the milquetoast Right go insane and do either one thing: mewl and puke and wet themselves and lose, or they riot and go into the streets and start a civil insurrection.

Then we have the right to shoot them, thereby changing the electoral balance of the United States for good, just like the Civil War did by physically eliminating so many pro-slavery Democrats.
