BREAKING: Attorney General Jeff Sessions says he's fired former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, effective immediately.
Firing him on his last day when he was already on vacation leave seems kinda petty.

No, it's not effective and it probably hurts Trump more than it helps him in any practical way.
So, other than making Trump looking like he's petty and vindictive and ineffectual about it, this doesn't do anything to put any real fear into the federal bureaucracy.
What's needed is a second special investigator to go after all of these people (including Mueller's bunch) with inpunity. That would actually inspire a lot of fear.

Couldn't Trump insist that the smart lawyers in the Justice Department fight McCabes pension?
And wouldn't dueling special investigators make even more of a political mess? - -- From an entertainment standpoint, bring it on, -- but I doubt it would put any of these slick bastards in jail. ---- Only Trump, using his constitutional powers to prosecute, could do that...
