United States News Title: U.S. Rep. Cicilline of R.I. introduces Assault Weapons Ban of 2018 U.S. Rep. David N. Cicilline on Monday introduced the Assault Weapons Ban of 2018, his office said in a news release. HR 5087 would prohibit the sale, transfer, production, and importation of semi-automatic rifles and pistols that have a magazine or can accept a magazine that can hold more than 10 bullets, and any ammunition-feeding device that can hold more than 10 bullets. It also covers certain weapons listed by name. The measure has 162 co-sponsors. Cicilline didnt scramble to write the bill in the 12 days since a gunman killed 17 people at a high school in Parkland, Florida. The Rhode Island congressman already had a bill, which he introduced in 2015. He updated it with the names of 48 more weapons, bringing the total of named guns to 205, said Richard Luchette, Cicillines spokesman. U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California has introduced a nearly identical bill in the Senate, the news release said. The difference is that Feinsteins bill does not include a provision requiring the National Instant Criminal Background Check System to notify the FBI field office and state and local police of any applicant found to be unqualified to buy a grandfathered weapon. The measure has the support of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, which has also asked for limits on ghost guns, or weapons that are assembled from components and that have no serial number, the news release said. The Police Executive Research Forum told Cicillines office that prohibiting assault weapons and high-capacity magazines would save lives because shooters would have to stop to reload. It looks like every single gun ever made is on the list. You could have single-shot or double-barrel guns. Maybe.
It looks like every single gun ever made is on the list. " And so it begins. And next, just as I predicted, demand will go up, supply will decrease, and prices will go up. Same old crap with politicians that appears especially approaching election time. He is capitalizing on the current tragedy to get votes in his district. If you are to believe this bill will ever get anyplace, then you are dumber that I ever thought possible. I call it a do nothing Ron Paul Bill. Move along ...
BOTH of them? In the entire history of the world, the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.
