People attend a blessing ceremony with their AR-15-style rifles in their cases at the Sanctuary Church in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania. Hundreds of couples toting AR-15 rifles packed a Unification church in Pennsylvania on Wednesday to have their marriages blessed and their weapons celebrated as "rods of iron" that could have saved lives in a recent Florida school shooting.

Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Reverend Hyung Jin “Sean” Moon, leader of the church after the death of his father and church founder, the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, blessed the roughly 250 couples at the service, a church spokesman said.

“Each of us is called to use the power of the ‘rod of iron’ not to arm or oppress as has been done in satanic kingdoms of this world, but to protect God’s children,” he said, citing the Book of Revelation in the Bible.

This Reverend Moon founded Kahr Arms, I believe.

Revelation 19:15 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)

15 And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp two edged sword; that with it he may strike the nations. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God the Almighty.

Rod of Iron, stainless steel. An excellent line of pistols for the school teachers, or anyone else.

I like the looks (and the brand) of the Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite Snubnose Revolver - 38 Spl. I think the solid pink guns are kinda passé now. I think the hot style for ladies handguns is the Tiffany blue guns (pretty but very few in revolvers) or in the Muddy Girl designs which seems like the latest thing but very little for revolvers.

Armslist: Ruger .38 LCR, Tiffany blue

I heard a rumor he was going to gather up all the surplus military and police confiscated handguns, rifles, and shotguns, and send them to the Muslims in Australia.

This is deep-cover stuff though,so don't tell anybody.

The surplus M1911A1 pistols program is continuing through CMP.

And now they're going to add the Garand rifles as well, a favorite of yours.

These pistols and battle rifles were loaned to our allies like Turkey and South Korea many decades ago. The agreements finally ran out and they have to return them to us and they're being put into the surplus sales program.

Anyway, I thought you might be somewhat interested. I have no idea what their price points will be once they inspect and repair them.

Hmmm,I was under the impression the Clinton's ordered all the surplus 1911's destroyed. I know a BUNCH of them were dumped offshore in VERY deep water. There were also a bunch of like new BARS,M3'S,M-1 carbines, and BMG's dumped, too. I know this happened with all the surplus weapons we had given to Haiti because I know people that were there and saw all the like-new US Surplus weapons taken out of the police arms rooms and dumped at sea.

And now they're going to add the Garand rifles as well, a favorite of yours.

I'm not sure "favorite" is a strong enough word. I have one,and if I can can see you,I can shoot pieces off of you with my Garand.

And once again,I am shocked there are any available. I know for years we were being told there were none available. I have a friend that sells surplus items, including gun parts for a living and has a huge warehouse to stock his stuff that told me there were no more Garands in the system years ago and that Clinton had signed an executive order to prevent any more coming back to the country that we gave to other nations.

I do hope you are right, and I hope you go qualify so you can get one, too.

Anyway, I thought you might be somewhat interested. I have no idea what their price points will be once they inspect and repair them.

Garands in arsenal rebuilt "like new" condition will probably be sold for something like $200 through the NRA. To qualify for one at that kind of price you have to be a member of the NRA,take a NRA weapons safety class, and qualify at a rifle match given by the NRA to get the certificate authorizing you as being qualified to own one.

If you just try to buy one from the open market, they are going to be a little pricey because the weapons collectors are going to be out in force to buy "like new" ones with foreign acceptance stamps. Supply and demand. As they sell off,the price will drop because at some point they will start selling guns assembled from parts.

You might ask your buddy.

Apparently Turkey and South Korea got these under some longterm $0-rent lease agreement with us. And no option in the contract for them to buy them from us.

Ask your dealer buddy about this. I've read a number of different articles mentioning it and numbers in the tens of thousands of guns.

Ask your dealer buddy about this.

Trust me,he knows about it if it's happening. He buys up surplus gun parts by the ton and sells them on Shotgun News and other sources. He's a multi-millionaire that even owns several gun ranges. Guns and shooting are his only interests in life. He goes to Camp Perry to compete every year.

Well, I don't know about him. I do know the reporting I've read.

BearingArms: 100k M1 Garands To Be Released To CMP, More May Be Coming

These are the Turkish (13K) and Philippine (86K) Garands.

And while the present 107,000 milsurp rifles and pistols are good news for CMP, collectors and competitors, there is more on the horizon. South Korea has approximately 80,000 M1 Garands and about 600,000 M1 Carbines loaned to that country under MAP. South Korea aborted an attempt to sell those loaned firearms to U.S. importers a few years ago. CMP is hopeful that these will also eventually be repatriated and passed on to the American citizen.

I'm sure he is aware of it.I'm just not sure he cares anymore. He's in his late 70's,a multi-millionaire that doesn't owe a dime to anyone, and his only living relative is his wife of 50+ years that is dying of cancer.

I also read somewhere that some thousands of these Garands were the more collectible sniper-grade rifles. I'll bet those will fetch a good price.

More than people like you and I could afford to pay. Or even be willing to pay.

Collectors are obsessed people. You offer them a chance to buy a rare military weapon with unusual foreign proof marks, and it's not even money to them any more,it's just numbers.

I personally don't need to own anything too valuable to shoot or carry around in my truck.

I'd be a little surprised if your own Garand is not sniper-grade or very close to it. You love that thing.

And while the conventional argument would be that a flood of Garands from overseas will lower the domestic price of good Garand rifles, it is quite possible that this release of rifles will revive interest in the Garands, especially among collectors, and drive their price even higher than they are currently. Not that you would ever part with yours but still...

There's a whole generation of new Garand owners on the horizon.

Nope. Just a typical WW-2 arsenal rebuild, and it's a tack driver. Issue M-1 Garands were probably the most accurate rifles mass delivered to any army.

And while the conventional argument would be that a flood of Garands from overseas will lower the domestic price of good Garand rifles...

There must be something wrong with me because I see that as a GOOD thing. I can't even begin to guess why anyone but dealers would be upset over that.

BTW,just because my Garand is a regular "Rack grade" rifle doesn't mean I would be amused to see someone trying to steal it. There would be a steep price paid for that mistake.

It'll be interesting to which direction the prices of Garands will go when these are released. Since they will release different grades of weapon, it will affect the whole market.

CMP is not shy about its asking prices either. It's not like it used to be where you'd get huge discounts for most any military surplus weapon.
