People attend a blessing ceremony with their AR-15-style rifles in their cases at the Sanctuary Church in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania. Hundreds of couples toting AR-15 rifles packed a Unification church in Pennsylvania on Wednesday to have their marriages blessed and their weapons celebrated as "rods of iron" that could have saved lives in a recent Florida school shooting.

Reverend Hyung Jin “Sean” Moon, leader of the church after the death of his father and church founder, the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, blessed the roughly 250 couples at the service, a church spokesman said.

“Each of us is called to use the power of the ‘rod of iron’ not to arm or oppress as has been done in satanic kingdoms of this world, but to protect God’s children,” he said, citing the Book of Revelation in the Bible.

Revelation 19:15 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)

15 And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp two edged sword; that with it he may strike the nations. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God the Almighty.

Rod of Iron, stainless steel. An excellent line of pistols for the school teachers, or anyone else.

I can't say anything nice about any S&W. You're probably too young too recall it much or were overseas during the kerfuffle but S&W tried to throw everyone else under the bus during the Xlinton gun grabs by trying to enter into an agreement which the Xlintons and Janet Reno intended to use as a model to strangle the entire gun industry. I'll never forgive them for it. I regret buying a Glock 23 just because it shoots S&W .40 ammo. I should have bought 9mm instead. My feelings toward them still haven't changed.

On March 17, 2000, Smith & Wesson made an agreement with U.S. President Bill Clinton under which it would implement changes in the design and distribution of its firearms in return for "preferred buying program" to offset the loss of revenue as a result of anticipated boycott.[14] The agreement stated that all authorized dealers and distributors of Smith & Wesson's products had to abide by a "code of conduct" to eliminate the sale of firearms to prohibited persons, dealers had to agree to not allow children under 18 access, without an adult, to gun shops or sections of stores that contained firearms.[14]

After an organized campaign by the NRA and NSSF over the issue of smart guns,[15] thousands of retailers and tens of thousands of firearms consumers boycotted Smith & Wesson.[16][17] The Smith & Wesson CEO who negotiated the deal, Ed Shultz, was forced out in September of that year.[18] Three months later the company's stock price fell to 19 cents per share (December 2000).[19] Smith & Wesson dropped its smart gun plans after nearly being driven out of business.[20]

On May 11, 2001, Saf-T-Hammer Corporation acquired Smith & Wesson Corp. from Tomkins plc for US$15 million, a fraction of the US$112 million originally paid by Tomkins.[21] Saf-T-Hammer assumed US$30 million in debt, bringing the total purchase price to US$45 million.[22][23] Saf-T-Hammer, a manufacturer of firearms locks and other safety products, purchased the company with the intention of incorporating its line of security products into all Smith & Wesson firearms in compliance with the 2000 agreement.

A reminder of exactly what they did: The S&W Betrayal.

I like the looks (and the brand) of the Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite Snubnose Revolver - 38 Spl. I think the solid pink guns are kinda passé now. I think the hot style for ladies handguns is the Tiffany blue guns (pretty but very few in revolvers) or in the Muddy Girl designs which seems like the latest thing but very little for revolvers.

Armslist: Ruger .38 LCR, Tiffany blue

Nice photo find. I didn't know of that connection but it doesn't surprise me a bit. The Trump brothers do seem to know everybody in the gun/industrial complex.

I don't actually worry all that much about Trump doing any gungrabbing because his sons are so pro-Second, pro-gun, pro-hunting. They really get it. And this is, actually, the Trump family's strongest direct connection to the GOP grassroots.

Oddly, we are not at risk from the gun, we managed the risk and declared never again. This does not mean we are unarmed, however weapons are not freely available to the criminal class, and this is borne out by the odd assortment of weapons found when they are raided.

Interestingly we haven't had any assassinations either

Look I sympathise with you, you have some very dangerous animals on your continent and even more among your population and in your government. We used the gun once to oppose government and the result was not the glorious revolution and civil war they might have hoped for, but ignominious defeat. Having lost america the British had no intention of losing Australia. We therefore understand that outcomes have to be wrought by different means.

The surplus M1911A1 pistols program is continuing through CMP.

And now they're going to add the Garand rifles as well, a favorite of yours.

These pistols and battle rifles were loaned to our allies like Turkey and South Korea many decades ago. The agreements finally ran out and they have to return them to us and they're being put into the surplus sales program.

Anyway, I thought you might be somewhat interested. I have no idea what their price points will be once they inspect and repair them.

Hmmm,I was under the impression the Clinton's ordered all the surplus 1911's destroyed. I know a BUNCH of them were dumped offshore in VERY deep water. There were also a bunch of like new BARS,M3'S,M-1 carbines, and BMG's dumped, too. I know this happened with all the surplus weapons we had given to Haiti because I know people that were there and saw all the like-new US Surplus weapons taken out of the police arms rooms and dumped at sea.

And now they're going to add the Garand rifles as well, a favorite of yours.

I'm not sure "favorite" is a strong enough word. I have one,and if I can can see you,I can shoot pieces off of you with my Garand.

And once again,I am shocked there are any available. I know for years we were being told there were none available. I have a friend that sells surplus items, including gun parts for a living and has a huge warehouse to stock his stuff that told me there were no more Garands in the system years ago and that Clinton had signed an executive order to prevent any more coming back to the country that we gave to other nations.

I do hope you are right, and I hope you go qualify so you can get one, too.

Anyway, I thought you might be somewhat interested. I have no idea what their price points will be once they inspect and repair them.

Garands in arsenal rebuilt "like new" condition will probably be sold for something like $200 through the NRA. To qualify for one at that kind of price you have to be a member of the NRA,take a NRA weapons safety class, and qualify at a rifle match given by the NRA to get the certificate authorizing you as being qualified to own one.

If you just try to buy one from the open market, they are going to be a little pricey because the weapons collectors are going to be out in force to buy "like new" ones with foreign acceptance stamps. Supply and demand. As they sell off,the price will drop because at some point they will start selling guns assembled from parts.

In the entire history of the world, the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.

You might ask your buddy.

Apparently Turkey and South Korea got these under some longterm $0-rent lease agreement with us. And no option in the contract for them to buy them from us.

Ask your dealer buddy about this. I've read a number of different articles mentioning it and numbers in the tens of thousands of guns.

Are you suggesting that the British maintained a larger and more potent army/navy defense posture in Australia as a result of their outright defeat in America?

what I am suggesting is that the British a maintained an adequate military force in Australia until 1870 and used it mercilessly to put down insurrection such as the Castle Hill rebellion (something like your Concord), the Vinegar Hill rebellion and the Eureka rebellion. In the context of the size of the population the military was a prominent feature in the early days, about 25% of the first fleet and there were wars with the natives, the scale of course was small and the outcome onesided.

The population was well aware of the events in america both the rebellion and the civil war as well as events in other parts of the world. The rebellion predicated the establishment of colonies here. The ability to defend a continent as large as Australia exercised the minds of the British throughtout the nineteenth century
