The suspect was identified as Nikolaus Cruz, a former student who had been expelled from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said. He said at least 14 other people were injured in addition to the 17 people killed. Officials believe the gunman had one AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle, but it was unclear if he had any other weapons. The suspect "was taken into custody about an hour after he left Stoneman Douglas after he committed this horrific, detestable act," Israel said. Federal and local authorities told NBC News there was no indication that the gunman had an accomplice or accomplices. So you shouldn't talk like one if you actually ever want to persuade someone. Tell you what. You travel down to Newtown and explain your theory to them in person, using exactly the language you used above. They'd love to hear from you. Not that it matters. Neither of us is going to stomp off in a huff anyway. So if you feel a deep emotional need to dance on the graves of the 20 dead toddlers murdered in Newtown, go right ahead. Celebrate it! Revel in it. Throw annual parties with BBQ and fireworks and a small carnival to commemorate it. Otherwise, maybe snowflakes will start going soft or something. And only really harsh and heartless statements about dead toddlers will stop that from happening. Apparently. I bet you aren't letting your girlfriend read this, are you? I'd be surprised if you could even convince her of the need for such harsh language about a tragic massacre, let alone anyone else.
