Republican Rep. Jim Jordan: Paul Ryan has 'got problems'

Washington (CNN)One of the leading voices of the House Freedom Caucus warned Sunday that House Speaker Paul Ryan was facing problems from fellow Republicans dissatisfied with his leadership.

Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan said the recently passed government funding agreement, which raises budget caps by $300 billion over two years, was "not consistent" with the promises Republicans made to cut spending, and that Ryan's support for the deal undermined his leadership.

"Do I think the speaker has problems? Yes, I do," Jordan said.

He noted that Ryan entered the national stage as one of the party's top hawks on deficit spending. "Just a few years ago, he was viewed as the leader of fiscal responsibility in our party," Jordan said. "And now he presides over a bill that increases spending $300 billion, a trillion-dollar deficit, when we were so poised to win this fight. Of course he's got problems."

Asked if this meant he thought it was time for Republicans to change their leadership, Jordan demurred, saying, "We'll have that debate at the appropriate time." J ordan was among the Republicans who voted against the package citing concerns over increased spending, and on the other side of the Capitol, Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul railed against his colleagues for what he called "hypocrisy" on spending and held the floor of the Senate through Thursday evening, slipping the government into a temporary shutdown.

Paul, in an interview on CBS "Face the Nation," defended his move and said many Republicans have not reckoned their calls for decreased spending with their support for increased military budgets. "There's sort of this question, is the military budget too small or maybe is our mission too large around the world?" Paul said. "And because Republicans are unwilling to confront that they want more, more, more for military spending."

In a separate interview on CBS, White House budget director Mick Mulvaney defended the deal President Donald Trump approved of and said to get a boost in military spending, they had to give in to some Democratic demands. "They held the Defense Department hostage, and we had to pay that ransom," Mulvaney said.

Mulvaney, who was himself a member of the House Freedom Caucus until Trump tapped him for budget director, also said he probably would not have voted for the deal if he were still in Congress.

"My job as the director of the Office of Management Budget is to try to get the President's agenda passed," Mulvaney said. "And right now the top priority for this President was getting the Defense Department the money necessary to defend the nation."

That's a sad photoshop of a famous photo from the artwork for the film Reservoir Dogs. That isn't even Rand Paul and the clumsy editing to insert Justin Amash is laughable. This is the original.
But, but....they still look like the Mafioso.
With badly faked movie pictures, that's how you're staying "on POINT"?
Yep, with Rand Paul in etiher picture....I am staying on POINT.

But Rand Paul is not in either picture. The guy you think is Rand is actually Harvey Keitel. The picture is kinda mediocre but that is who it is.

If you don't believe me, just ask our own misterwhite, who takes his screen name from Keitel's character in Reservoir Dogs named (what else?) Mister White.

Keitel went on to another iconic role in Tarentino's Pulp Fiction.

The photo you posted is from the movie poster and soundtrack. You can see various angles of that shot from the movie trailer at YouBoob.

Those really are Tarentino's best movies IMO. The rest just don't stack up. Kill Bill? Some interracial Western? That crappy Brad Pitt fake Nazi movie? None of them hold a candle to Tarentino's two great movies.

I take it that you will confirm that those photos above are of your namesake, Harvey Keitel, and not Rand Paul?

That one was bad. But I liked Kill Bill. True Romance(written by Tarantino) is terrific. Django wasn't bad.

Sure but look at this one of "Senate Dogs". Just an ordinary pic of the three walking with sunglasses badly photoshopped on their faces.

Gatlin, you really should watch Reservoir Dogs sometime. And Pulp Fiction. Don't worry, there aren't any libertarians in either one.

True Romance(written by Tarantino) is terrific.

Never saw it but he only wrote it.

Django wasn't bad.

It wasn't good either.

His third great movie was Natural Born Killers. That one is pretty gritty. I still laugh over Rodney Dangerfield in a comedic role as the child-molesting father. Yikes! But he got justice too. Watching that movie back in the Nineties was a real punch in the gut.

And there was his vampire movie also, From Dusk Till Dawn. Cluny was good in it as was Tarentino playing a psychotic sex killer, all on a journey in an RV with a Baptist preacher and his kids into Mexico.

Gatlin should definitely watch all four of these movies.     : )

Aqua Buddha

It is widely believed that this is the model of bong that Rand called the Aqua Buddha back in his college days.

The story got out during his 2012 run for Senate when some girl he knew in college told a story about how Rand and a friend of his tried to kidnap her so they could force her to worship the Aqua Buddha, leading to this witty cartoon. You can see her tied up in the background.

Anyway, now you know as much about Aqua Buddhas as I do.

'Aqua Buddha' ad backfires

A series of new polls show that Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate Jack Conway’s now-infamous “Aqua Buddha” ad may have dramatically backfired and turned scores of wavering voters towards tea party favorite Rand Paul.

Conway’s disapproval ratings have jumped dramatically over the past week, a trend that makes it an even steeper challenge for the state attorney general to knock off Paul in the race to succeed GOP Sen. Jim Bunning. And the sharp turn-of-events has come in the immediate aftermath of Conway gaining serious traction in the race, when he appeared to have effectively moved it into a dead heat after waging a series of attacks against Paul’s views on Medicare.

Now with less than a week to go until Election Day, it seems unlikely that the contours of the race will change once again - though there was new drama on Monday when, outside a Paul-Conway debate, a Paul supporter appeared to have stomped on the head of a liberal activist. Both men have denounced the incident, but Conway has called on Paul to apologize to the victim.

....

Blowback from the aqua buddha smear campaign, Rand Paul was elected to the US Senate.

BTW, it was 2010.

Gee, I hope that Gatlin's headache has gone away by now.

Ever notice that his best roles are nearly all cameo appearances?

He's the most successful supporting actor in history. But when he stars in something as a traditional male lead, it flops.

I think Pitt is greatly overestimated as an actor.

People only remember his cameos like Fight Club and Thelma and Louise.

He just doesn't seem to have what it takes as a personality or an actor to sell himself as a lead actor.

I think he's gotten too old to ever be a great actor. He has a career and will continue to make money but he will never be considered among Hollyweird's great actors. He will only be remembered for those cameos, where he left the audience wanting more.
