Edwin was loved by all in the Colts organization. We admired his outgoing personality, competitive spirit and hard-working mentality. He was well-respected among all with whom he crossed paths, and he will be greatly missed in our locker room and throughout our entire organization. We also understand that another person lost his life in the accident, only adding to our sorrow on this day. We are shocked and saddened by this tragedy, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of both men during this difficult time. The pain of the loss will only be more severe if the guy who killed him shouldnt have been in the country in the first place. A Guatamalan illegal, deported in 2007 and 2009 according to a Fox News piece.
Yes. It appears that some of the earlier reports were saying Alex Cabrera Gonsales was from Mexico. Reports now indicate Guatamala, 2x deported.
He was ordered deported by a court twice. It isn't clear if he was ever deported as a result. He may have been on the lam since 2007. Or caught but released and another court order issued. You have to wonder how much of a life of crime we haven't heard about yet. There is obvious criminality so we should be looking for details to emerge about all his other victims.
Or if we will ever hear of them. Perhaps he committed crimes in his home country of Guatemala and fled to the U.S. to commit more. It will be interesting to learn more of his criminal past.
