On Wednesday, paparazzi captured photos of Sarah Palin relaxing on a Hawaii beach with her husband and children, and wearing a McCain campaign visor -- with her former running mate's name scribbled over with a black marker. TMZ called the visor a "searing political statement," but Palin tells Politico that she was just trying to keep a low profile. "I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way," Palin said in a statement. "I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito." Given her statements as McLunatics running mate,which I was willing to overlook BECAUSE she was his running mate at that time,and given her "I support 100%" statement of yesterday,I have no choice but to believe it means the same thing to her that it means to McLuntic. If it doesn't,she should come right out and say so. As for me,I am done with making excuses for her. She is no longer McLunatics running mate,and she is supposed to be out from under his shadow now and on her own. OR it means what you think it means: "Amnesty" (even though Palin was clear about "NO Amnesty.") Once again,HOW is it possible to have a "path to citizenship" WITHOUT amnesty? No. I supported her in the first place because I had a sense from some of the things that she said that she MIGHT be a genuine conservative at heart. Or maybe I was just so desperate for a conservative to show up that I hoped she was. Ok, you're spooked - I get it. Palin = 0bama = Bush = McCain. Now what? Now I don't know. The only good news is there is still a year left to go before the 2012 elections start getting into full swing,and I can just hope that Walter Jones or another actual conservative throws his or her hat into the ring. If not,I'm back to voting for local and state candidates in 2012,and casting another write-in ballot for president. I think I'll vote for Cheech Wizard this time.
