On Wednesday, paparazzi captured photos of Sarah Palin relaxing on a Hawaii beach with her husband and children, and wearing a McCain campaign visor -- with her former running mate's name scribbled over with a black marker. TMZ called the visor a "searing political statement," but Palin tells Politico that she was just trying to keep a low profile. "I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way," Palin said in a statement. "I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito." I'll tell ya something just as funny. Almost everybody that whines about Ron Paul being for open borders voted for Boy Jorge and then for John McLunatic.
That's the way I see it,too. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt right up to the time I spotted this report. No longer. There is no longer any chance of her getting my vote.
Ron Paul isn't open borders. He opposed the amnesty bill and voted for the wall. Where as Palin on the other hand supports a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants and wants to work with the Latino community. Paul supports ending student visas form terrorist nations and birthright citizenship. Ron Paul is not perfect and has his problems, however he is 10x better than Palin, particularly on immigration. It doesn't really matter,and has never mattered because he had about as much chance of getting elected president as I did,and I wasn't even running. He has no charisma,and doesn't seem to have the fire in his eyes that a national politician needs to attract support. Palin had a serious shot at it where he had failed,but she is selling it down the drain so the RINO's will like her and pat her on the head. I have no doubt the advisers and consultants she hired is telling her to do this,but almost all of them worked for Bush,McLunatic,or both. Americans finally have decided the status quo is unacceptable, and immigration may be the issue that decides the 2008 presidential election. We’re often reminded that America is a nation of immigrants, implying that we’re coldhearted to restrict immigration in any way. But the new Americans reaching our shores in the late 1800s and early 1900s were legal immigrants. In many cases they had no chance of returning home again. They maintained their various ethnic and cultural identities, but they also learned English and embraced their new nationality. Today, the overwhelming majority of Americans – including immigrants – want immigration reduced, not expanded. The economic, cultural, and political situation was very different 100 years ago. We’re often told that immigrants do the jobs Americans won’t do, and sometimes this is true. But in many instances illegal immigrants simply increase the supply of labor in a community, which lowers wages. And while cheap labor certainly benefits the economy as a whole, when calculating the true cost of illegal immigration we must include the cost of social services that many new immigrants consume – especially medical care. Good point. I can see that. But if she disagreed with him on policy, she should have declined the nomination. But if she disagrees with McCain's views, stances and policies, and still made the statement above, then like a typical politician she's lying to further her political career. If she does agree with McCain's views, stances and policies, and made the statement above honestly, then she is not a conservative. Either way, I can't support her.
