SOUTH PACIFIC (INTELLIHUB) — A man posted a video to YouTube on Sunday in which he claims his sister, who lives on Maui, heard that a group of 9 tour boat guides and about 13 tourists witnessed some type of explosion in the sky about 100 NM offshore (leeward side.) “They said it looked like a meteor and then all of a sudden it was a big boom and it lit up the entire sky,” he explained. “It was at eight o’clock in the morning.” “Maybe this wasn’t a drill after all,” he said. “I would think that the United States would not want to cause more panic if they did launch something at Hawaii — they would say it was a mistake.” The man also maintains that the story was posted by a local news outlet for a short period of time before it was “pulled” altogether. Youtuber Ashley LP chimed in: So I live on Island and our family has a lighthouse, we all saw a bright flash that morning as well. There is much buzz about this… Thank you for actually putting what islanders are all talking about. The video was posted one day after a false missile alert caused a panic throughout the islands. This alleged explosion doesn't even rate being a low-grade conspiracy theory. Third-hand stuff. Or just made up out of thin air by a flake or his flaky sister.

(KHNL) - A scary Sunday for some residents in Leeward Oahu as they witness a mysterious explosion at sea. Fire and Coast Guard crews search by land, air and sea, trying to figure out what it was. "Something splash with black smoke," said Jeff Lono, witness. "It was a really, really tall splash," said another witness. People who saw the event describe it as a blast about a couple miles away from Ewa Beach. "I had no idea. I thought we were getting attacked at first," said Josh Shin, witness. After combing the area for 90 minutes, rescue crews called off the search. "We didn't find any evidence of a crash of any kind or other activity that would've indicated an an emergency," said Capt. Terry Seelig with the Honolulu Fire Dept. But numerous witnesses describe the same scene. Lono even used his binoculars to get a closer look. "Just a couple of military boats out there," said Lono. "I was thinking the Navy was out there doing something," said another witness. They're right. Navy officials confirm the loud explosion was part of RIM-PAC, which continues this week. Officials say the area off Iriquois Point is designated for military training. They also say they obtained the proper permits and notified nearby vessels. RIM-PAC continues until July 28. The Navy has not said whether more tests will be conducted in that area.

Nothing in GI's posts indicates he has skills below that of a high-school dropout. He seems as capable in language skills as you, for instance. At a minimum, his general language skills indicate at least a two-year degree. A four-year criminology degree isn't out of the question.

I'm a high school graduate with some college... no college degree. I'm not the highest IQ on the forum... and my worst subjects were English and Math. I do however have a basic understanding of our language to be able to write officer reports, file accusatory instruments with the court... and post here. IMHO, my best attribute is common sense. I look at shit logically... without emotion. You are correct, I'm a class or two from a 2 year college degree in criminal justice
