Unlike many articles flagged by users, this news comes from an established news outlet. The report cites two sources informed on the matter who “spoke on condition of anonymity because Mueller’s investigation is confidential and mostly involves classified information,” McClatchy reports. According to these sources the FBI is investigating if the deputy governor of Russia’s central bank, Alexander Torshin, illegally gave money to the National Rifle Association to assist the organization in electing Donald Trump. The amount of evidence the FBI has in this matter is unknown. McClatchy also notes that Congress has had an eye on Torshin as well: Torshin has attended several NRA conferences dating back to at least 2014, the New York Times reports, and has built a relationship with the NRA, hosting two dinners for NRA top-ranking delegates when they visited Russia in 2015 according to McClatchy DC. The article also notes the Times’ report that Torshin spoke with Donald Trump Jr. at an NRA convention and attempted to establish contact between Putin and then-candidate Trump. It is important to note that McClatchy reported that it could not discover how much evidence the FBI has on this matter or how long the investigation has been going on. Poster Comment: I haven't found reporting on this angle at other sources yet. Facebook users were skeptical of a McClatchy DC report on Thursday that the FBI was investigating whether “Russian money went to [the] NRA to help Trump.” The House and Senate Intelligence Committees and Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee also have taken an interest in Torshin as part of their parallel inquiries into Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections.

IMHO,it is past time for the FBI to be dissolved. Maybe create a new agency under the Office of Homeland Security and bar any senior Feebs from employment there to prevent them from corrupting it,also? With a SPECIAL FOCUS on barring any former or current Feeb political appointees from any employment there other than sweeping the floors or cleaning the toilets. In the entire history of the world,the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.

How about we fire and prosecute the political hacks who took leadership at the FBI and promoted and protected each other. Comey, Mueller, Rosenstein, Holder, etc. It won't stop until they understand we will ruin their lives for corruption in positions of power.

As sneakypete reminded me a few days ago, Russians have regained some pretty significant gun rights in recent years. RT: Russians can now carry guns for ‘self-defense’, 2014 This article did come from a hotbed of anti-Trumpers at Weekly Standard. And they're reporting a story from diehard Trump-hating libs at McClatchey which has turned into almost a tabloid over the last decade. Their star reporter was the hag Helen Thomas as you recall. In the end, the only facts here are that Russia is more friendly to guns and the NRA had a few dinners there sponsored by this banker. No proof he ever gave the NRA money to run ads for Trump (or possibly other GOP candidates which seems more likely to me). I know I posted this article just as a heads-up toward what may be coming next in the War On Trump. It doesn't mean I take it at face value. Not without a lot of proof behind it, like a significant money transfer from that banker to the NRA and proof that it was conditional on the NRA running Trump ads. Maybe I didn't pay enough attention but I don't really recall the NRA running any pro-Trump ads. Or any anti-Hillary ads. It's not as though there was any doubt that the NRA was in the anybody-but-a-Xlinton camp all along.
