Dick Durbin Attacks The President Over “Chain Migration”!
Democratic Senator Dick Durbin who first helped spread the rumor of Trump’s ‘sh*thole’ comments, attacked the President for using the term ‘chain migration’ because it’s ‘painful’ to black people. Chain migration is when someone comes into this country and tries to bring their family and everyone they know with them.
However, according to Durbin, ‘chains’ remind black people of when they were brought here as slaves from Africa. “When it came to the issue of ‘chain migration,’ I said to the president: “Do you realize how painful that term is to so many people? African Americans believe that they migrated to America in chains, and when you speak about chain migration, it hurts them personally,” said Durbin.
Perhaps this nutbag is not a credible source of information. Durbin has used the term ‘chain migration’ himself in the past. But of course, it wasn’t an offensive term until President Trump said it.
“The DREAM Act would NOT lead to ‘chain migration’. DREAM Act beneficiaries would have very limited ability to sponsor family members. They could never sponsor extended family members and they could not begin sponsoring siblings or parents for at least six years,” said Durbin in a 2007 Press Release.
He even used the term ‘chain’ in a recent meeting with President Trump. “We have a deadline looming and a lot of lives hanging. We can agree on some very fundamental and important things together on border security, on chain, on the future of diversity visas…” said Durbin.
