A lawyer for President Donald Trump arranged a $130,000 payment to a former adult-film star a month before the 2016 election as part of an agreement that precluded her from publicly discussing an alleged sexual encounter with Mr. Trump, according to people familiar with the matter. Michael Cohen, who spent nearly a decade as a top attorney at the Trump Organization, arranged payment to the woman, Stephanie Clifford, in October 2016 after her lawyer negotiated the nondisclosure agreement with Mr. Cohen, these people said.... . . . I know a lot of people will believe it coming from WSJ.

I think so. Notice the pornstar issued the statement that Cohen was branishing and it was dated 2 days ago. The WH obviously knew this was coming. I notice that Trump's lawyer and the pornstar are denying there was an affair. They did not deny that a payment was made which seems funny to me. Cohen could easily have said "there was no affair, there was no payment of any kind". But all he said was "there was no affair".
What does "in my presence" mean here?
That was a peculiar emphasis. Something about that letter looks phony to me. You'd normally expect to see this on stationery with an attorney's letterhead. It looks like something hastily assembled and signed at the last minute. I kinda wonder if Cohen didn't write the whole thing and just sent it to her for a signature. There could be a clause in the hush agreement that she is obligated to provide such denials. Well, if there was a hush money arrangement which, of course, there wasn't.
