The Establishments war on Donald Trump Title: Report: Frustrated Trump asks senators, why are we letting people in from “sh*thole countries”? I dont know. This doesnt sound like the Trump *I* know. Were about to enter an especially fun news cycle in which the White House screeches FAKE NEWS, HE NEVER SAID THAT while Trump fans screech HES TOTALLY RIGHT while rattling off their own personal lists of sh*thole countries. Alt-righters in particular might literally wank to this story given Trumps alleged contrast between African countries and a Nordic one. Personally, as a patriotic American, I think all other countries are sh*tholes. Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here? Trump said, according to these people, referring to African countries and Haiti. He then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries like Norway, whose prime minister he met yesterday. The comments left lawmakers taken aback, according to people familiar with their reactions. Its not clear who was at the meeting but WaPo suggests Dick Durbin was there to discuss the terrible new immigration proposal. Did Trump really think he was going to say this in front of a Democrat without it being leaked immediately? Prepare to hear the word blankhole a lot on cable news over the next few days. The White House has already issued a statement, by the way and interestingly, it doesnt claim WaPos story is fake news. Theres no denial here: Stefan Becket (@becket) January 11, 2018 That tells me theyre confident, no doubt correctly, that Trump voters will eat the WaPo story up. How it plays internationally with the many sh*thole countries America does business with and depends on for cooperation on counterterrorism is another matter. But thats easily finessed: Any diplomat who asks the State Department what Trump meant by this will be assured that of course he wasnt talking about your homeland. Except Haiti, I guess. Twitter pal Kilgore Trout makes a fair point: Kilgore Trout (@KT_So_It_Goes) January 11, 2018 Thats the essence of nationalism! My country has been turned into a sh*thole and will remain so until it elects me to start clearing out the foreigners. Make America Great Again is premised on the idea that America is a sh*thole. Or was as of January 19, 2017. This is a fair point too, sort of: Isn't the whole argument the left makes for amnesty based on the fact that the countries they come from are "s**thole countries"? These idiots are going to say Trump's comments were offensive. But their better arg would be that he's right, therefore amnesty. Heimish Conservative (@HeimishCon) January 11, 2018 Liberals would gasp in horror that anyone would accuse them of thinking another country is a sh*thole (except Syria, maybe), but yes, of course its true that poor conditions abroad are a staple of open-borders arguments. In extreme cases like Syria its an argument for a generous refugee policy, but the sh*thole logic reaches beyond obvious humanitarian disasters. One of the defenses of letting child migrants in during the border surge a few years ago was that their home countries werent as safe as they should be thanks to drug cartels and street gangs. Its not that the left disagrees with the concept of sh*thole countries. They just think thats an argument for immigration to the United States from those places rather than against it. I sure hope Trump is preparing some sort of politic answer for the first time hes asked, Which countries are sh*tholes, Mr. President? Otherwise, Trump being Trump, hes just going to blurt out the brown ones and then weve got a whole new news cycle to deal with. Maybe hell do like he did with version three of his travel ban and stick some country in there that subverts the racial/religious narrative. He added Venezuela to the ban to undercut arguments that it was aimed at Muslims. If he wants to undercut arguments that the sh*tholes are all black and Latino, may I suggest including Russia? Heres Tapper furrowing his brow over Trumps comment. If nothing else good comes of this, at least Trump got Jake Tapper to curse on live television. The Lead CNN (@TheLeadCNN) January 11, 2018 Update: An unlikely source flags a problem with Trumps logic: Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) January 11, 2018 Temporary Protected Status is a sort of temporary refugee designation due to dangerous conditions in a persons home country. The sh*thole talk actually reinforces the idea that places like El Salvador are still dangerous. How do you lift TPS and send El Salvadorans who are currently in the U.S. home if youre all but admitting that its unsafe? Update: Norwegian socialists versus poor but hard-working Africans. Why would Trump prefer the former to the latter? Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) January 11, 2018 Update: A fair retort to theatrical liberal horror at Trumps comment: id est (@idestHQ) January 11, 2018 Poster Comment: You sometimes wonder if there are days when Sarah Sanders dreads going to work in the WH. : ) Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread Top Page Up Full Thread Page Down Bottom/Latest Begin Trace Mode for Comment # 15.

Gosh.... I'm more proud of our president, daily. Trump doesn't speak with politically correct forked tongue. Say it the way it is, Trump... and if it hurts people's feelings, TFB.
No one can out-troll the Troll King. At exactly the moment he shouldn't really say something like this, he blurts it out in front of Dick Durbin. Trump is gaslighting these self-inflated gasbags. It's part of his M.O. over many years.
Trump is right: Haiti is a shithole. So are the teeming slums of the most violent cities in the world (which are in Latin America, not Africa - America is not being overrun with African immigrants - the immigrant wave is from Latin America). Trump is speaking with the voice of the American people. This is why we elected him. WHY DO WE HAVE TO TAKE IN ALL THESE IMMIGRANTS FROM SHITHOLE COUNTRIES? The answer? The Democrats want them: they are future Democrat voters. The Republicans want them: they are cheap exploitable labor, and the Republican Party is controlled by business interests (which is why they speak with such disdain of "populists"). This is Trump's signature issue: The Wall. If he cannot get it done, he's finished, and so is the country in the long run.
About half of illegals arrived by air holding various types of visas (student, tourist, etc.) and just overstayed. The Wall won't deal with them.
So, we deal with the worst and the poorest - those who cannot afford a plane ticket - with a wall, and we deal with the rest at the airports and schools. No deflection. Stop resisting. Build the Wall.
