The 6-year-old boy killed by a stray bullet in a shooting involving Bexar County deputies in Schertz was identified Friday by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.
Kameron Prescott was shot in the abdomen and taken to University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Sheriff Javier Salazar previously said the boy was 7 years old, but the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said on Friday that he was actually 6 years old.
Kameron was shot while inside his home in the 100 block of Peach Lane. Four Bexar County deputies had been chasing a wanted felon in the area, and they opened fire on her as she tried to break into Prescott's home. The woman, who has not been identified, was killed.
Authorities have said the woman had pointed a weapon at police during the chase, but no weapon was found on her following the shooting.
Two other people were inside the mobile home with Prescott when he was shot, but they were uninjured.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the deputies who fired upon the suspect ranged from 2-year to 27-year veterans and used handguns and a rifle in the shooting.

Kameron Prescott, dead from a hail of police gunfire into the side of his house.
People who live in trailer parks deserve to be treated like anyone else.
Don't tell me,tell society and the goobermint.
I wonder if the reckless so called officers were more reckless since it was just trailer park folk who might get hurt by stray bullets.
That seems to be the mentality behind far too many shootings in the black inner city ghettos,so why would it be any different for white rural "ghettos" like trailer parks?
I am NOT saying that "these people are trash that deserve to die!" is foremost in ANY sane person/cops mind, but it has to be acknowledged that it plays at least a tiny role in the subconscious of the people that patrol those areas.
Kind of a "chicken or the egg" think that seems to automatically become a reality too often.
