To: Hank Rearden (#0) Finally we are seeing aerial views of the wreck. They show the locomotive, (at approximately 80mph) came to an emergency stop (derailment?) immediately after going over the overpass, --- causing all the passenger cars (12?) to pile up behind, some going completely off the railbed/bridge, --- into the woods and onto the highway. This was the first run of this train, and the track must have been inspected very recently.. Possibly even this morning. To: tpaine (#1) Looks like the engine was the only portion that didn't derail - now we see what looks like 4 cars down in the woods on the other side of the bridge from those that fell onto the highway. To: Hank Rearden (#2) Looks like the engine was the only portion that didn't derail - I saw several loops that showed the engine from directly above. -- It looked to me like it's front end was a bit further to the left than it would be if it was still on the track... But whatever, something happened to stop that locomotive way to fast.
