Can breakfast food be discriminatory? It certainly seems that way, at least according to several people on social media who accused cereal giant Kelloggs of promoting "racism" with an illustration that appeared on the back of the Corn Pops box — and the company is now apologizing for its lack of sensitivity. The picture in question shows a Corn Pop shopping mall (with stores names such as "Pop Shoppe" and "The Milky Way Arcade") filled with Corn Pop "customers." All of the Pops basically look the same except for one Corn Pop near the bottom — a janitor Pop who appears to have darker skin. One Twitter user, Marvel Comics author Saladin Ahmed, thought the Pop color looked a little suspicious and took to social media to warn Kelloggs that their cartoon cereal shopping mall was teaching kids how to be racist. Strangely, the Pop in question is also the only cartoon bit of cereal with a nose and ears. It's also not clear whether anthropomorphic Corn Pops do, indeed, have races or race-based divisions. Or, for that matter, whether cereal is even capable of shopping. And, for heaven's sake — isn't Corn Pops made of corn? So wouldn't Corn Pops consuming Corn On A Stick be cannibalism? But be that as it may, the dark-hued Corn Pop does stick out. And to their credit, Kelloggs responded quickly. The cereal giant promised to make changes to the back of the Corn Pops box so that all the cereal bits appeared equal. "Kellogg is committed to diversity & inclusion. We did not intend to offend – we apologize. I agree. They depict the two white guys as nerdy and silly with their stupid white socks and sandals. I'm offended!
Don't know why they are bitching - the brown one appears to be the only one who has a job. No surprise. I saw one of the Kellogg trust fund heiresses on Hay-Raldo or some other show doing a panel-chat to promote diversity,equality in pay and hiring,social justice,and a unicorn in every garage,maybe 20 years ago. She was probably about 25,and a absolute rabid fan of Soviet-style communism. Was ranting and raving about the working poor not having enough money to buy homes,etc,etc,etc. She was shut up for a minute when someone from the audience asked her how much she paid her personal assistants because that obviously had never occurred to her to think about,and then she responded with a truthful,and telling answer. She said "I don't know. My personal manager handles the hiring,firing,and wage issues." Kinda brought a tear to my eye to hear that. That poor Princess being made to answer personal financial question from peasants! Outrageous! Someone else in the audience asked her how long it had been since anyone in her family had a job and earned a living,and IIRC,she said he thought it was her grandfather. Which of course makes people like her experts on jobs and the economy. In the entire history of the world,the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.
