Title: Liberal Media Worry: 'Steve Bannon May Run for President'

Clearly, liberal media like The Hill have completely lost it:

A Bannon presidential candidacy could occur in 2020 if Trump leaves office before his term is concluded or if Trump decides for some reason to not run for a second term. A Bannon candidacy could occur in 2024 if Trump runs for a second term and is defeated, or if Trump is reelected and annoints Bannon as his successor.

Bannon is doing everything a presidential candidate would do:

He is traveling around the country, cajoling ideological allies to run in primaries against traditional Republicans;

mobilizing an insurgent grass-roots challenge to the dazed Republican power structure;

attacking virtually every major Republican leader in Congress and the last Republican president;

building a network of mega-donors who write massive checks to elect Republicans they support or defeat Republicans they oppose; and

creating a substantial base of small donors.

Could Bannon ultimately be nominated as the GOP candidate for president? You bet he could. In the coming months, the political world will witness the first cannon fired in the battle for the Republican presidential nomination for 2020.

OK, this is becoming pathetic. I get that Bannon is the Left's new favorite bogeyman, but this is insane.

Bannon has never -- in any way, shape, or form -- even implied that he wants to run for president or any other political office.

The contrary is true, even: if you listen to him, watch him, and read him, it's crystal clear that if there was ever a guy who's not interested in becoming president (or senator), it's him. Bannon is effective as a corporate leader, as the man behind an impactful website, as a strategist, and as a speaker who rallies the troops.

Besides, although Bannon certainly shares the agenda Trump ran on in 2015/2016, he doesn't enjoy even half the fame or popularity Trump did when he ran for office. That's important because there is absolutely no way on Earth that Trump could have won without it. Trump was a celebrity candidate. As an outsider, that may be the only possible way you can win such an election. Bannon is appearing on TV frequently nowadays, activists know who he is, and many readers of conservative websites are acquainted with him -- but he's not the "household" name for decades that Trump was.

The time is becoming ripe for the establishment of a legitimate party of the right!

The time was right when Perot ran.

Now that fruit has ripened, fallen off the tree and rotted.

The time has come for a party of the Center - a party that is socially conservative and fiscally moderate - an American version of the Christian Democrats of Europe.

Democrats are radically immoral on social issues, and Republicans are radically crony capitalist.

You need a party that will protect Social Security and Unemployment insurance, improve universal public education, protect Medicare and expand it to cover everybody uninsured, defend the borders, enforce the laws, leave the estate tax and progressive taxation in place and close all of the loopholes for the rich (including the "'charitable' foundation" loophole, protect domestic markets against unfair trade, and maintain the Empire abroad through a combination of peaceful diplomacy and effective military action, while not pretending that boys are girls, girls are boys, and people decide which they whenever they please, and that will not allow the law to be used to punish people who think that immorality is normal and say so.

You were doing just fine until the last, but important to you, paragraph.

But that's just it!

America is not an unregulated free market capitalist libertarian no-safety- net country. Right wing yahoos are that, and crony capitalists, for different reasons. But most of America is not, and never will be.

Neither party represents that America that stands firmly as a mule on the matters of Social Security, Medicare and universal public education. None of this is negotiable, it all will be funded, and it all is more important than funding foreign wars. We can be secure at home, but we will not be impoverished at home.

If the modern social state that we have built cannot stand under certain cranky interpretations of the Constitution, then we need a party that is not filled with cranks but with people who will interpret the Constitution properly, so that we CAN have what we have built without constantly having to defend it against kooks in our own ranks.

That's the problem with the Republican Party - they really hate the country, because the country believes in the social welfare state and they do not. The center of the country rejects Republican economics, and we should not have to put up with Republican corruption, Republican idiocy, Republican insanity, Republican cronyism and Republican preaching in order to have the sort of state we have already created, have fought hard - against Republicans - to get and keep - and that we are never going to surrender. We need to have a party that represents us on those fundamental matters.

The Republicans do not, and never will.

The Democrats could, but then the Democrats go full-on sexual pervert, insisting that Christians have to rent out their churches to faggots, putting bakers out of business for not wanting to bake "wedding cakes" for the absurd mockery of marriage that is a "gay wedding". The Democrats say that to have our Social Security and education and unemployment benefits and Medicare, we have to accept the murder of viable babies, we have to celebrate buggery, and we have to be constantly aggrieved against our own nation and flag.

No. Democrats can go fuck themselves. We do not have hate our country and go full-on pervert in order to have Social Security and Medicare.

We can, in fact, have the social welfare state that the vast majority of Americans know is necessary, and reject the Ayn Rand fools of the Right and the pervert squad of the Left. We are the majority, and we can occupy the center and make a pretty strong party with simple libertarian principles on PERSONAL matters (keep your guns, do whatever you want at home - we'll stay out of it, but no, we will not mainstream buggery, and no, you cannot abort a baby that can feel anything at least), while understanding that there will be reasonable taxation and wealth redistribution from the top to the middle and bottom (as opposed to from the top and middle to the bottom) in order to ensure that EVERYBODY has a decent standard of living.

That's where America IS. That's what the bulk of the people want: to be free, to be left alone, to have a robust safety net, and to have economic security throughout life.

That is the center. We do not have to accept sexual immorality, we do not have to accept baby murder, we do not have to accept the contracting out of everything to Halliburton, and we do not have to accept the concentration of wealth in 5% of the heads.

We can, in fact, establish a party that stands for EXACTLY what the bulk of us want, and simply coerce the Left, and the Right, into line by the police forces just EXACTLY as they do to us.

We are more numerous. What we need is a populist leader who will throw off the orthodoxies of the Right, and jape at the orthodoxies of the Left and not let them into the tent. Trump is pretty close to that. We need to build on his success and create a new party.

We SEE the Republicans attempting to block him through inaction, and whining about it like bitches now that their re-election prospects are doomed. They blame him - good! It's his "fault" that he will not adopt their party line. Their party needs to die and be replaced by a centrist party.

The Democrats, meanwhile, are not surging either, because actually most of us don't like buggery and abortion, and we don't hate America, and we don't think that the football players taking a knee "have a point". They don't have a point that we care about. We care about respect for the flag, and we're not going to "listen to them". They need to shut up, show respect and listen to us, or will rip up their sport and leave them washing cars, which is all their education level is good for anyway.

The Center of America happens to be right on just about everything. The right are a bunch of Pharisaic religious fanatics of a false religion, or crony capitalists, or Ayn Randians. Push them out. The left are a bunch of sexual predators, murderers and racists. Fuck them. Most importantly - ignore them, and strip from them the ability to harness certain parts of the government to get their way.

It is time for a centrist party that combines basic non-puritanical Christian morality with basic communitarian Christian economic efforts.

Call the new party the Christian Democrats, and cut a swathe down the middle that encompasses 60% of the electorate, take power, and erase everything that goes too far right or too far left.

That's the option America wants. It's what Trump as been playing to all along.

Three programs that are either going broke or failing miserably. Why should anyone support them?

Most Americans can read and compute. Wasn't true before universal public education. Won't be true again if we go back to not having it.

Retirees get health care, and are not dependent upon their adult children, so Medicare and Social Security are both working as designed.

Neither of those programs are going broke, any more than the army is going broke. These are government outlays, paid for by taxes, not private businesses that have a profit and loss sheet.

We need all three, they're not optional, and the Republicans' Achilles' Heel is their unreality in regard to these things. When a Centrist, Populist Party finally does emerge, it will be the end of the Republicans precisely because Republicans have never accepted Public Education, Medicare and Social Security as necessary givens.

The people will never let the Republicans get rid of any of those things, but the Republicans will squander a great deal of goodwill that could actually make them the majority party because they won't accept reality in these regards.

Democrats do, and it would be so very simple for Democrats to become the heavily dominant centrist party. Trouble is, the Dems are perverts. They do stand for the social safety net, but then they squander their political power and goodwill on buggery and babykilling, making themselves odious.
