A Texas man has parked a World War II era tank on his front yard, displeasing his homeowners association in a neighborhood of multi-million dollar homes. The owner claims that the tank (pictured above) is "not hurting anyone" and will eventually end up at his ranch in east Texas. Tony Buzbee bought his fully-functional M4 Sherman tank overseas before delivering it home to sit outside his home. According to Buzbee, the tank landed at Normandy and participated in the liberation of Paris. The tank has been demilitarized, meaning the weapons—including the 75 millimeter M3 main gun—no longer work.

The HMA just loves it. Buzbee says he's going to take the tank to his ranch in East Texas, where he'll use it to run over junked cars. He'll also strap a machine gun to it. According to the web site The American Lawyer, the tank was purchased from a French military museum that was closing down. The auction that sold the tank identifies it as a M4A4 Sherman, which was distributed to British and French forces during World War II. The tank is painted in U.S. Army colors and has hull markings that indicate it is the second tank of first platoon, Charlie Company of the 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Division.

Why didn't he just drop it off @his_ranch to begin with? My GOD, this guy is a phuckin' idiot (somewhat akin to several posters on LF) wanting a piece of replica JUNK in the first place.
The picture and some later text contradicts this.
Maybe he's trolling the HOA. Maybe he knows they have no power to do anything about it. Maybe he's angling to try to sue them and humiliate them in court? It seems he's kind of an asshole lawyer, more aggressive than your average shyster. I assume that bringing to his house and then choosing to park it on the street is very deliberate, that he was provoking the HOA.
Thats probably too heavy for the street and could cause cracking. But I must admit I think its cool!!!

Buzbee lives in a multi-million dollar home in the Houston area, and apparently many of his neighbors aren't happy. The tank owner was slapped with a letter from the River Oaks Property Owners group, which claims the tank "impedes traffic", causes a "safety issue". Buzbee says the tank doesn't violate any ordinances, just that the homeowner's association doesn't like it.
