At least 50 people have been killed and more than 406 injured after a shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada

The shooter has been identified as Stephen Paddock, 64, who opened fire from a 32nd floor room of Mandalay Bay Hotel after 10pm Sunday night

Police say they breached Paddock's room and found him dead inside alongside an 'arsenal' of weapons

Cops have located Marilou Danley, described as Paddock's 'companion' and roommate, for questioning, but don't believe she's involved in the shooting They say he had been saying in Las Vegas since September 28

Paddock was reportedly retired and came to Las Vegas often to gamble, his brother said

It's the deadliest shooting in U.S. history - eclipsing last year's massacre at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida

America is reeling from the worst mass shooting in its history after at least 50 people were killed and more than 406 wounded at a country music festival in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

The shooting broke out on the final night of the three-day Route 91 Harvest festival, a sold-out event attended by 22,000 and featuring top acts such as Eric Church, Sam Hunt and Jason Aldean.

Police say the shooter was 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock, a resident of nearby Mesquite, Nevada, who opened fire on the festival taking place at Las Vegas Village from a room across the street in the Mandalay Bay Hotel at 10:08pm.

Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said that his officers breached Paddock's room on the 32nd floor and found Paddock dead inside, among an 'arsenal' of weapons. Lombardo said that Paddock shot himself dead.

Investigators are now raiding Paddock's home in Mesquite. Shortly after the shooting, police said they were looking for his 'companion' and roommate Marilou Danley. Police contacted Danley early Monday morning and found that she was out of the country. After speaking with her, they no longer believe she was involved in the shooting. However, they say Paddock had used her ID when he checked into the hotel on September 28.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, said investigations are still ongoing and police have not yet determined a motive. He was not believed to be connected to any militant group, Lombardo said.

'We have no idea what his belief system was,' he added.

President Donald Trump paid his respects on Monday morning after the shooting, writing on Twitter: 'My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!'

(Hundreds of rounds of automatic gunfire were reported by witnesses on the scene; one woman in the Mandalay Bay said that there was a shooter on the 32nd floor, and that they had killed a security guard)

(A man lays on top of a woman as others flee the music festival grounds. She appears to be alive and moving)_

(Three people lie on the ground, one covered in blood, after the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival on Sunday)

(Police detained Marilou Danley, described as Paddock's 'companion' and his roommate, in the early hours of Monday morning. They say they don't believe she was involved in the shooting)

America is having problems like we never thought possible. Look at what's happening all over the once free USA. Now jump on the government with two feet and demand that Muslims be rounded up and deported to a Muslim nation where they'll fit.

WE know this wasn't committed by the Amish or the Mormons! (4 images)

Sounds like an unhappy gambler who hit bottom and decided to take it out on an open-air concert.

I think these open-air concerts are always problematic for this reason. The organizers are under an obligation to provide security to their customers. And there is no way to provide any meaningful security to those customers in an open-air concert. The presence of high hills or tall buildings in the immediate area only increases the organizers' liability to provide for the safety of concert-goers.

Even an event like Burning Man, in a flat desert, is problematic for security. And the security problems of any concert surrounded by hills or tall buildings is evident in this case and others.

Leftist democRats will scream and holler about gun control, but as always not a single one will outline a yet-to-exist law that would have prevented this attack by a loon.

I just hope he was a registered 'Rat and Clinton or Sanders supporter. Seems unlikely a normal person would target a country-music concert.

Their solution, as always, is no private gun ownership at all.

You have to have half a dozen qualified snipers armed around every venue.

Snipers on hand would have quickly ID'd the source of the shooting and returned fire which would have greatly reduced casualties.

His brother claims he had no history of mental illness, which seems odd, obviously.

Girlfriend? Gone abroad?

They say he used her ID or credit card to rent the room, perhaps via an online booking.

They say she has been located in the Philippines and is not suspected of involvement after being questioned by authorities there.

Her divorce was finalized in 2015.

She had been a roommate or lover of Paddock since then.

A nearby neighbor said she saw her pack up her car and leave in July and that the house had apparently been empty since then.

She has Australian citizenship but she is Filipino or part Filipino. She is supposedly in the Philippines visiting family and that is where she was detained and questioned by police and then released.

FWIW, the Philippines are 92% Christian, 5.5% Muslim and a smattering of other religions.

I see reporting now that the alleged shooter was a multimillionaire real estate investor and owned two private aircraft.

the alleged shooter was a multimillionaire real estate investor and owned two private aircraft

"Stephen Paddock worked for a predecessor company of Lockheed Martin from 1985 until 1988," the company tells ABC in a statement. "We’re cooperating with authorities to answer questions they may have about Mr. Paddock and his time with the company."

Paddock was also a licensed hunter and private pilot. He owned an aircraft that he kept at Mesquite Metro Airport in Texas from 2007 to 2009.

The mASS media will never print to which party this maniac was affiliated. For all we know all these people were murdered to further the abolition of the Second Amendment.

This hasn't anything to do with the massacre, but one can't fail but notice the litter these 'concert' goers tossed.

Can they avoid it?

That video of the rally in Reno where the perp and the girlfriend were both present will be almost impossible to avoid reporting. The perp is wearing a pink pussy hat.

He's kind of a generic looking senior and the pussy hat hides his head a bit. To me the clincher is his GF. It really looks a lot like her other photos to me.

FWIW, here is a video taken by another customer of room 32-135 where the shooter fired from.
