Hillary Clinton said she’s “convinced” that Trump campaign associates cooperated with Russia to meddle in the 2016 presidential election, according to a report. “There certainly was communication and there certainly was an understanding of some sort,” Clinton told USA Today in an interview released late Monday. “Because there’s no doubt in my mind that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin wanted me to lose and wanted Trump to win. And there’s no doubt in my mind that there are a tangle of financial relationships between Trump and his operation with Russian money. And there’s no doubt in my mind that the Trump campaign and other associates have worked really hard to hide their connections with Russians.” “I’m convinced of it,” she continued in the interview tied to Tuesday’s release of her book “What Happened.” “I happen to believe in the rule of law and believe in evidence, so I’m not going to go off and make all kinds of outrageous claims. But if you look at what we’ve learned since (the election), it’s pretty troubling.” The former Democratic presidential candidate said she believes more lurks behind Russia’s hacking of the election, Wikileaks release of emails from the Democratic National Committee and from her campaign chairman John Podesta and the recent revelations that the Kremlin bought Facebook ads to plant fake news stories. Clinton also said Moscow was motivated to interfere in the election because of Putin’s “personal vendetta” against her, which can be traced to NATO’s expansion in eastern Europe during Bill Clinton’s administration and the part she played when she was secretary of state in encouraging demonstrations against him in 2011. ”Yet I never imagined that he would have the audacity to launch a massive covert attack against our own democracy, right under our noses – and that he’d get away with it,” she told the newspaper. BTW,we all understand this book is more about being a legal way to launder pay-offs for political favors by using public money to buy the books for public libraries,but I have to wonder how many copies are being sold to individuals? Other than individuals who are buying them to donate to public schools,public libraries,and to hold up short table legs,that is. I am betting most non-institutional sales will wind up in public landfills right after being purchased. Writing (having someone else do the work and taking credit for it) books when leaving office is a traditional money-laundering source for politicians. Everybody knows it,but no one in a position to do anything about it wants it stopped and the offenders brought to court. It's pretty much everybody. You recall there was a lot of pent-up Xlinton fatigue even before she lost to Trump. It was evident when she lost to that nobody state senator from Illinois, 0bama. Somehow this book has created its own shut-the-fuck-up-and-go-away moment for the libs and Lefties. Of course, she still has some fans. I saw people had lined up for 12 hours to get 12 seconds with her to autograph their copy of her new book. It was at some B&N in NYC.
