Title: Trump to Congress: Legalize DACA! (or I Will Revisit)

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the repeal of the Obama era executive order — known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program — both on constitutional grounds and also on principle.

“The effect of this unilateral executive amnesty, among other things, contributed to a surge of unaccompanied minors on the southern border that yielded terrible humanitarian consequences,” Sessions said. “It also denied jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans by allowing those same jobs to go to illegal aliens.”

The move saw significant opposition from Democrats and voices in the media, while even some Republicans who formerly opposed DACA called for Congress to act to resolve the issue with legislation.

The rollback includes a six-month delay so as to allow Congress to act if it so chose. The White House had expressed hope that the issue could be included as part of a broader immigration legislation package, with Trump tweeting that he hoped to work with Democrats and Republicans for a reform “that puts hardworking citizens of our country 1st.

But by late Tuesday, Trump appeared to have turned into a paper tiger on the key campaign promise to get rid of DACA, saying he would “revisit this issue” if Congress did not “legalize DACA.”

The tweet appears to be adopting an argument used by many establishment Republicans that posits the problem with DACA was not its substance, but primarily that it was done unilaterally by President Obama, not through Congress.

It is unlikely that Trump’s “America First” base, which supported Trump in part because of his focus on illegal immigration, will be satisfied with anything approaching a repeat of DACA — either by Congress or presidential pen.

Perhaps sensing a possible cave, conservative commentator Ann Coulter tweeted before the announcement that millions of voters “not only won’t vote for [Trump] again, but will never vote Republican again if they pass this DACA amnesty.

Poster Comment:

I told you so. Trump is a NYC globalist progressive like his next door neighbors, Bernie Sanders and Chuck Schumer.

Full amnesty will come if he's reelected in 2020. He's a Reagan Reconquista, a REAL Republican!

It is very much out of line for Trump to want DACA legislation passed. But given the Republicans hold both houses of Congress, Trump may be doing a ploy to offload the responsibility to Congress. If Congress does nothing for the next 6 months, Trump can say he has their support in ending the program.

But we'll see.

It's very much in line with his views for the 65 years preceding his presidential run.

It is very much in line for Trump to put a recalcitrant Congress in a very awkward position to get whatever it is that he really wants. Congress has a long-term history of having refused to pass the DREAM Act. Obama could not get it through Congress. It is less likely to get through now, but they do not want to touch it with a ten foot pole.

The Democrats could NEVER get amnesty for the 50 million illegals in this country, as much as their base would support them. They could not get serious gun control through Congress either though their base would love to do that. The Republicans? they will be the ones to give amnesty to illegals, and gun control a shot too.

We are in the middle of the biggest "Rollover" event in American political history. Trump is now pro war, pro amnesty and has cut a deal with Pelosi and the Dims to raise the debt ceiling whenever " it is needed ". Look at my history, I voted for him, and he will not get my vote again or another dollar, until he does JUST ONE THING he said he stood for. LOCK HER UP? not happening, she is a nice lady. Tax Reform, maybe in 2020. Build the wall? Congress won't pay for it, so he has a built in excuse. The Russia investigation? He can easily shut this down by making the Justice department and the FBI follow both protocol and the law. Trump, I loved him but he is the big nothingburger. Trump is a distraction from the planned takeover of the USA, when he falls flat and resigns, the coup that began 11/22/63 will be complete. America as an example of self rule will hit the shit pile.

Exercising rights is only radical to two people, Tyrants and Slaves. Which are YOU? Our ignorance has driven us into slavery and we do not recognize it.

Well, the right answer is that the people who were brought as kids, grew up and were educated here, are simply granted the citizenship they ought to have, and that is that.

The right answer is to get the wall going up and stop the flow.

That leaves people on this side of the wall already. You go through and throw the violent criminals out. You give the rest green cards, a path to citizenship, and you pass legislation that traps their current employers in maintaining their employment, but at US wages with full social security payments.

The cheap labor folks drove the open border argument. So when you close the borders, you make a point of preventing those who exploited illegal labor from being able to lay off the labor now that it is legal and most expensive.

You give the former illegals full "for cause" legal rights against their illegal employers. Americans can be hired and fired at will, but employers who hired illegals CANNOT lay off or let go the illegals except for cause, with the presumption being on the illegals.

They got their cheap labor, now give that cheap labor full rights, the equivalent of union rights, and enforce those rights with the federal government legal power.

This will hang the former illegals on the necks of their illegal employers like an albatross.

It's just, and it's fun to turn the tables.
