LEFT WING LOONS Title: Illinois (Republican!) Governor Signs Outrageous Sanctuary Bill eeing as how the majority of Illinois’ governors wind up in prison, it’ll be hard for Republican Bruce Rauner to achieve any Worst of All Time awards before his tenure in the mansion is over. But if he wanted to make a run for that dubious honor, he couldn’t have done better than signing the massive sanctuary state bill that just came across his desk. The bill, which will make it essentially impossible for federal authorities to deport nearly 500,000 illegal immigrants, is nothing more than a cave-in to Chicago Democrats who are eager to fight the Trump administration every step of the way. “Illinois has been welcoming of immigrants for a long time, and this bill will continue that tradition,” Rauner said in a statement. “It also makes clear that stopping violent crime will be law enforcement’s mission rather than working on federal prerogatives that a federal court has found illegal.” Rauner denies that the Illinois TRUST Act constitutes a sanctuary bill, because it does not prohibit local law enforcement officials from communicating with federal immigration officials. However, it does prevent police from stopping, arresting, or searching anyone on the basis of their immigration status. And while Rauner may have gotten away with that without too much criticism, the other part of the bill – the one that bars local officials from obeying federal immigration detainers – has Trump supporters crying foul. A Justice Department spokesperson told Fox News that bills such as the TRUST Act contributed towards a state of lawlessness in the U.S. “As the Attorney General has said, when cities and states refuse to help enforce immigration laws, our nation is less safe,” said DOJ spokesman Devin O’Malley. “Failure to deport aliens who are convicted for criminal offenses puts whole communities at risk – especially immigrant communities in the very sanctuary jurisdictions that seek to protect the perpetrators.” Rauner and his supporters are trying to spin this every which way they can to make it look like this was the best, most “reasonable” compromise they could make with the Democrats, but the only thing they managed to do was excise a clause that would have created “safe zones” where ICE would have been forbidden from making deportation arrests. Which, great, we’re glad they were able to do that much…but this is still a failure of conservative leadership from any standpoint imaginable. Rauner may be reluctant to tackle illegal immigration head-on, but that doesn’t mean he has to betray Trump’s movement towards securing our borders. He deserves all the scorn he’s going to get. This dipshit is trying to lure illegal aliens and any warm body back to flatulenceland by any means possible because in three years that state is going to loose another one or two more congressional districts. Our enemies, who call themselves Democrats, want to lard up the voter roles with dumbed down unwashed Spanish speakers. Goodbye Illinois. Very glad I have no reason or desire to ever go there again.
