Sebastian Gorka Resigns, and Blasts Trump

UPDATED: Sebastian Gorka, a controversial adviser to President Trump, exited the White House on Friday.

The Federalist ran an alleged resignation letter from Gorka late Friday afternoon. Later, however, a White House official said, “Sebastian Gorka did not resign, but I can confirm he no longer works at the White House.”

Gorka, who has been linked to far-right groups in Hungary, blasted the Trump administration’s new Afghanistan policy in the letter reported by the Federalist. Gorka is focused on counterterrorism policy, and objected that references to “radical Islamic terror” were removed from the president’s Afghanistan address.

“[G]iven recent events, it is clear to me that forces that do not support the MAGA promise are – for now – ascendant within the White House,” Gorka wrote, according to the Federalist. “As a result, the best and most effective way I can support you, Mr. President, is from outside the People’s House.”

Gorka was a close ally of Steve Bannon, Trump’s strategist who was forced to resign last week.

“Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will ‘Make America Great Again,’ have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months,” Gorka wrote. “This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week.”

Gorka also objected that the Afghanistan policy — which marks an escalation of the 16-year-old conflict — lacked strategic focus.

Is there anyone left in the White House who's pro American, and not a globalist progressive?(1 image)

This has been coming for a long time.

Gorka was never trusted with any real job responsibilities at the WH.

I've listened to Gorka on the John Batchelor radio show for years. He still appears at least weekly and next week's visit will be interesting.
He's brilliant, this is a big loss and I think Trump has irrevocably screwed the pooch and squandered the once-in-a-generation opportunity we had.
There's nobody of substance and principle left, with the possible exception of Mattis, and I won't be surprised to see him resign next year.

I don't want to agree with you, but I do anyway. Trump is co-opted and is now another puppet, albeit with a free wheeling banter but no real power.

Exercising rights is only radical to two people, Tyrants and Slaves. Which are YOU? Our ignorance has driven us into slavery and we do not recognize it.

Seems the swamp is draining Trump.

Certainly, the Trump voting public is getting a clear view of just how powerful the deep state is, when someone like Trump who was put in to office of president on a strong populist, America-first platform is being systematically drowned.

Even as president, it seems good things simply cannot happen. Not that Trump was ideal in all respects, but still...

But Trump has always been and still is smart. It's not out of the question that in a year or two, Trump will wake up one morning and realize just how much he's innundated with the deep state and how wrong he has been in conforming to it, say to hell with it, and start causing huge amount of mayhem and making things right.

But first he has to realize what all of us here already know.

BIG fucking deal. All he will do [is] a "tweet."

Yep. It's become obvious he didn't really want the job, wasn't serious about what he said while campaigning and isn't taking the position seriously now that he has it.

Too bad we don't know anything, really, about how or what Pence will do once Trump quits.

By his very nature, Trump like Rush thinks the glass is half full. Little things like "tweaks" to the system will soon have the "American Ferrari" roaring along like gangbusters. In truth, the glass is damn near empty, and the "withdrawal of political capital" have left the US as much in debt in the area of goodwill and morality, as our 20 Trillion debt has left us broke and INDEBTED to evil evil men.

Exercising rights is only radical to two people, Tyrants and Slaves. Which are YOU? Our ignorance has driven us into slavery and we do not recognize it.

But first he has to realize what all of us here already know.

With Kelly and Huckabee-Sanders keeping him in a protective cocoon, there's slim chance of enlightenment from watching Fox & Friends, and the Morning Joe.

He needs to get out more, and go golfing with Rand.

Yep. It's become obvious he didn't really want the job, wasn't serious about what he said while campaigning and isn't taking the position seriously now that he has it.

Oh, he wanted the job alright, and he wanted it for the right reasons. No, he didn't want it for his own benefit, but that is what all the other candidates wanted it for, especially Hillary, and that is, of course, the WRONG reason for wanting the job. On that score, Trump is good. Trump wanted the job because he loves the USA, and wanted to do what he believes is right and good for the country. While we all disagree what that right and good should be, that is nonetheless why Trump ran. He absolutely is a patriot, by definition.

Where Trump fell short, and continues to fall short, is his faith in the system. He IS a patriot at heart and he does want what's best for the USA. He remains oblivious to the power of the deep state & swamp, even as he gets mired deeper and deeper in it. What I hope will happen is what I said, that as he gets more experience, he will eventually wise up to what is going on and seeing the light of day, start a wholesale slaughter of his deep state staff that don't share the values of the populous that put him in office.

That may not happen till the last 1.5 years of his first term.

One thing that appalls me though is the very consistent claims about Trump being a racist. There are plenty of people who hate Trump. And the reason they hate him is because he has been an arrogant and hugely successful businessman. He's also the "alpha male" who privately regards women, at least beautiful women, in the stereotypically form of "objects" to be conquered. I can respect the opinions of people who despise him for those reasons. What I cannot respect, however, are those multitudes, including in my own extended family, that hate him and claim it's for fake reasons like how he's a racist or a white supremacist, because he isn't one.

If one hates Trump, fine. But hate him for honest reasons.

That may not happen till the last 1.5 years of his first term.

We're in the last 1.5 years of his only term NOW.

He's not coming back from the hole he's dug for himself, greatly accelerated by his undisciplined, relentless, often-backfiring and often-ridiculous habit of tweeting out whatever the hell crosses his mind before giving it a second thought or even checking its veracity. So much childish crap has spewed from his Twitter account; I'm so damn sick of seeing it day after day I could just scream. Odumbass is a gasbag, but he's a disciplined gasbag.

And his refusal to fire thousands of Odumbass holdovers, and prosecute Lois Lerner, James Koskinen (the asshole who STILL RUNS the IRS) and dozens of other obvious criminals including Hillary Milhous Felon, Susan Rice, Loretta Lynch, Huma Carlos Danger, coupled with a large fraction of his own personnel choices sucking ass, doesn't help.

There's long-term damage too, including the destruction of the argument that we needed someone with real-world experience and business skills instead of a hack politician in the White House. Nobody will ever believe that ever again; they'll just point to Trump and smile.

Mark my words.
